Description
The Drive Prime Plus P2002 is a full-electric bariatric long-term care bed. It expands from 39 to 54 in (99 to 137 cm) wide and carries a 1000 lb (454 kg) capacity including the resident.
What does it do and how does it work?
- A clip-on hand pendant runs the head, foot, contour and frame height.
- Comfort Chair and Cardiac Chair positions are available; Cardiac Chair works with the optional staff control.
- Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg need the optional embedded staff control and its lockout.
- An edema foot ratchet raises the foot end, and an adjustable mattress retainer holds the mattress for the 80, 84 or 88 in deck.
- Four heavy-duty Euro casters roll at any height, steer and lock.
- Padded one-button drop-down assist rails are standard; an adjustable wall saver protects the wall.
- The all-steel frame carries a no-sag slat deck; the bed is IP54 rated.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a long-term care room that needs a deck from 39 to 54 in wide.
- For a heavier resident: the 1000 lb (454 kg) capacity includes the resident.
- For a narrower bed, the Prime Plus P750 has a smaller width range.
- For a skilled nursing, rehab or assisted-living room. Not for a child, and not for a home room that cannot take the frame.
Will it fit?
- Width settings: 39, 42, 48 or 54 in (99, 107, 122 or 137 cm) by push button.
- Sleep surface: 80, 84 or 88 in (203, 213 or 224 cm).
- Height: 19 in low and 32 in high working height.
- Mattress thickness: 5.5 to 8 in (14 to 20 cm).
- An 80 in deck with the wall guard is 100 in (254 cm) long overall.
- Measure the room, the doorway and the route in before delivery.
Using it day to day
- Set the width and length before choosing the mattress, so the mattress fills the deck.
- Use the pendant for head, foot, contour and height; the staff control adds the tilt functions.
- Lock the casters before a transfer and check the assist rails are seated.
- Check the mattress and rail gaps on the assembled bed.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Bed ends, mattress, staff control, battery backup, scale (P2002-WS), trapeze and extra assist bars are options; the base bed has the pendant and padded assist rails.
- The casters move the bed inside the room for cleaning or access. They are not for transporting a resident.
- Without the staff control the bed does not do Trendelenburg or reverse Trendelenburg.
- A mattress that does not match the width and length leaves a gap if rails are fitted.
- Frame 15 years, welds lifetime, electronics 3 years.

Frequently asked questions
Does the base bed tilt?
No. Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg need the optional embedded staff control, and a clinician's direction.
Are bed ends and a mattress included?
No. Bed ends, mattress, scale, battery and staff control are options; the base bed comes with the pendant and padded assist rails.
What happens in a power cut?
The base bed has no battery. Battery backup is an option, so confirm it with the order.
The Drive warranty runs 15 years on the frame, life on the welds and 3 years on electrics.

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the Prime Plus P2002 bariatric bed against defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal use and service. Drive repairs or replaces defective items at its option at no charge.
- Welds: limited lifetime, defined as 20 years from delivery.
- Structural steel frame: 15 years from delivery.
- Electrical and mechanical parts and components: 3 years from delivery.
- Bed-mounted accessories, head and foot boards and all other parts: 1 year.
- DC batteries: 90 days.
- Covers the original owner who bought it new from Drive or an authorized dealer; not transferable. A valid bed serial number is required.
- Excludes abuse, improper assembly, use, cleaning or repair, accident, negligence, unauthorized alteration, unsuitable environments, poor maintenance, and work not done by an authorized Drive distributor or technician.
