Description
The Drive 11101W-2 is a bedside commode for someone who needs the chair to roll up to the bed. Padded arms drop for a sideways slide, and the frame holds 300 lbs (136 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
Roll it to the bed, lock two casters, and drop an arm for the slide.
- Press the release button and lower the padded arm.
- Four rust-resistant swivel casters. Two of them lock.
- Push-button legs set the seat from 17 in to 21 in (43-53 cm). All four legs use the same hole.
- A 7.5 qt (7.1 L) pail with a carry handle and a splash shield. The seat and lid snap onto the back rail.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits someone who can slide sideways off the bed, and whose chair has to roll into place.
- Choose the 11125KD-1 when you want rubber tips and no wheels.
- Choose a shower commode when the seat has to go into the shower.
- Choose a patient lift when the person cannot sit at the edge and slide.
Will it fit?
The seat is 14.25 in by 16.75 in (36 by 43 cm), and it sets from 17 in to 21 in (43-53 cm) off the floor.
- The frame weighs 22 lbs (10 kg). One size.
- A free home assessment can check whether the casters clear the doorway.
Using it day to day
Lock the two braking casters before the transfer. The seat stays down while someone sits.
- If the seat and lid are cold, let them reach room temperature before they snap on. Cold clamps can crack.
- The arms steady a sit or a stand. They are not a hoist for a person's full weight.
- Lift the pail out by its handle. Wipe the seat after use. An opened commode cannot be returned (return policy).
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
Bedside use only, up to 300 lbs (136 kg). Not a transport chair and not a shower chair.
- No footrests, so do not wheel someone down a hall in it.
- This price is for one commode. We confirm that one chair is what ships before you order.
- The frame is 1 in (2.5 cm) powder-coated steel. Limited lifetime warranty, casters excluded; see the Warranty tab.
How does it compare?
- 11125KD-1 stands on rubber tips, with no wheels and a higher seat.
- 11125PSKD-1 has a padded open-front seat and also frames a toilet.
- More rolling chairs are under wheeled commodes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I push someone down the hall in it?
No. There are no footrests. Roll it into place, lock two casters, and use it as a bedside seat.
Will it fold for the car?
No. It is a rigid steel frame on four casters. It does not fold flat for a car trunk.
Can the seat clamps go on straight from a cold car?
No. Let the seat and lid reach room temperature first. Cold clamps can crack when they snap onto the rail.
Is a replacement right arm still made?
A replacement right arm is not made once the current stock is gone. The left arm is a separate part.
