Description
The Ezee Life Economy Wheelchair CH1090-18 is a steel folding chair with an 18 in seat, for a rider who propels or a companion who pushes on short trips.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Steel cross-brace frame that folds side to side to 10.5 in (27 cm) wide.
- 34 lb (15.4 kg); 42 lb (19 kg) in the box.
- 24 in (61 cm) rear wheels with solid flat-free tires, and 8 in (20 cm) front casters.
- Fixed full-length padded arms; swing-away removable footrests with flip-up footplates that adjust from 17 to 21 in (43 to 53 cm).
- Wheel locks on both rear wheels.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A rider who needs a dependable chair for appointments and errands, and a family that wants it to fold into a car.
- For all-day sitting, the maker's lighter 18 inch standard chair takes less effort to push, and a pressure-relieving cushion matters more than the arm style.
- More room: the 20 inch standard chair; the maker also builds 22 and 24 in heavy-duty sizes.
Will it fit?
- Seat 18 in wide by 16 in deep (46 by 41 cm), 19.5 in (50 cm) from the floor; back 15.5 in (39 cm) high.
- Overall width 27.5 in (70 cm) and length 41 in (104 cm); measure the narrowest doorway on the route.
- Measure the rider seated: hip width, hips to knee, and knee to heel in shoes.
Using it day to day
- Folds side to side; the footrests swing away or lift off before the chair goes into a car.
- Set the footrest length 17 to 21 in so the thighs are supported and the feet clear the floor.
- Set both rear wheel locks before a transfer.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The rider and anything carried must total no more than 300 lb (136 kg).
- The arms are fixed and cannot be removed; the footrests swing away or lift off.
- No cushion is included, and the seat and back are PVC vinyl.
- Warranty: one year against manufacturing defects and faulty workmanship. See the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
- Seat width: 18 in is this chair; the CH1090-16 is the same chair 16 in wide.
- Larger riders: the 20 in CH1094 or the 22 and 24 in heavy-duty chairs.
- Footrest length is set on the order; the chair arrives with it adjusted.
How does it compare?
- CH1093: a lighter 18 in standard chair for longer sitting.
- CH1094: the 20 in standard chair.
- Standard wheelchairs: the full range.
