The Span America Geo-Matt Soft Skin sleeve, part 50960-563, is a fitted, fire-retardant replacement cover for the 72 in (183 cm) Geo-Matt therapeutic foam overlay.
What does it do and how does it work?
- It covers the segmented foam and protects the overlay from fluids with a tough, flexible sleeve.
- It is the fire-retardant grade, for a care setting that asks for one.
- The thin cover follows the 800-plus foam cells, so the overlay's pressure and moisture work carries on underneath.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Replacing a torn or stained sleeve on a sound 72 in Geo-Matt overlay.
- The non-FR 50960-561 suits a setting that does not ask for the fire-retardant grade; the tubular SP759-000 encloses the overlay.
- A collapsed foam core needs a new overlay, not a cover.
Will it fit?
- It is cut for the standard Geo-Matt overlay, 33 in wide by 72 in long by 3.5 in high (84 by 183 by 9 cm).
- Measure the foam first. An 80 in overlay takes the 80 in Soft Skin sleeve, 50960-590.
- The overlay is rated to 250 lbs (113 kg). The sleeve carries that rating with it.
Using it day to day
- Check the sleeve for tears at each bed change; a split lets fluid reach the foam.
- Clean and disinfect it under your facility's cover protocol.
- Covers that have touched skin cannot be returned, so confirm the part and the length first. See our return policy.
How does it compare?
A nylon fitted coverlet is a Geo-Matt cover without the fire-retardant grade. The vinyl/nylon zippered cover encloses the overlay and wipes clean.

No. 50960-563 is the cover alone; the overlay is SP584-000.
Will it fit an 80 in overlay?
No. This one is cut for the 72 in overlay; the 80 in Soft Skin sleeve is 50960-590.
Can I use it on another foam mattress?
It is cut for the Geo-Matt's 33 by 72 in foam. Another overlay needs its own cover.
