Description
The Buzzaround EX 3-wheel (GB118) is Golden's take-apart scooter with two U1 batteries included. The heaviest piece is the front half, 46 lbs (20.9 kg).
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A rider up to 350 lbs (159 kg) who can lift that 46 lb front half, or who has help.
- Ground clearance is 4 in (10.2 cm). Solid 9 in tires and comfort-spring suspension. It is still a pavement scooter, not a grass scooter.
- The four-wheel EX turns wider. See that page if you want four wheels on the ground. If the front half is too heavy, see travel scooters.
- If you need a cushion or back support for posture, ask your therapist about a power wheelchair.
Check the pieces
- Six pieces in four steps: pop off the seat, pull out the battery pack, fold and lock the tiller, then release the drivetrain to separate the front and rear frames.
- Assembled with batteries it is 154 lbs (70 kg). The front half is 46 lbs, the rear half 36 lbs, the seat with arms 23 lbs, and each U1 pack 24 lbs.
- Length 45 in (114 cm), width 22 in (56 cm), height 35 to 37 in (89 to 94 cm). Turning radius 40.5 in (103 cm); wheelbase 34.7 in (88 cm). Deck height is 6.75 in (17 cm).
- The quilted high-back seat is 18 in wide and 16 in deep, with 16 to 18 in from the deck and 22.75 to 24.75 in off the ground in three 1 in positions; it swivels. A stadium seat, 20 by 18 in, is optional.
- Solid 9 in tires with 2 in anti-tip wheels. Top speed up to 8 km/h (5 mph). LED headlight and taillight, electro-mechanical brakes and a freewheel mode for pushing.
- The tiller adjusts through its arc and carries a USB charging port. A 320 W motor and 90 A Dynamic controller drive the rear wheels.
Batteries come with it
- Two U1 packs. Range up to 29 km (18 mi) in Golden's test at 200 lbs, not at 350 lbs. The off-board charger is included, with its port on the tiller.
- Velvet Red or Coastal Blue shrouds are standard. Optional Crisp White, Canary Yellow, Stone Grey, Orchid Pink, Army Green and Desert Tan finishes need a price.
- We replace worn batteries.

How far at my weight?
Golden's 29 km figure is at 200 lbs. A heavier rider or hills will do less. The limit is 350 lbs.
What do I lift?
The front half, 46 lbs. The scooter comes apart into six pieces and weighs 154 lbs with the batteries in.
Is this the four-wheel EX?
No. This is GB118, the three-wheel. The four-wheel front half is heavier and the turn is wider.
How do the six pieces separate?
Pop off the seat, pull out the battery pack, fold and lock the tiller, then release the drivetrain and separate the front and rear frames.

Warranty details
Golden Technologies warrants the Buzzaround EX 3-wheel (GB118) to the initial consumer, from the date of purchase from an authorized Golden provider, against defects in materials or workmanship.
- Steel frame, frame welds, tiller frame, front fork and seat post: lifetime limited.
- Transaxle and motor/brake assembly (electrical function): 2 years.
- Controller, dash, wire harnesses, potentiometer and battery charger: 2 years.
- Batteries supplied by Golden: 1 year.
- Bearings, bushings, rubber and plastic parts, seat swivel, armrests and accessories: 1 year.
- Excludes wear items (tires and tubes, motor brushes, brake pads, plastic shrouds, bulbs and fuses, upholstery, armrest pads), misuse, commercial use and exceeding the weight capacity.
- Parts only: labour, service calls and freight are the owner's cost. A warranty registration card must be on file.
