Description

The Golden Eagle GR595 is Golden's largest four-wheel heavy-duty scooter, rated 500 lb (226.8 kg), with front and rear suspension and 13" (330 mm) pneumatic tires.

Who is it for?

A rider to 500 lb who wants the biggest, most stable Golden scooter, on grass, gravel and packed trails. It is not for a hallway or a doorway under 30" (762 mm): the turning radius is 69" (1753 mm).

How does it drive?

Top speed is 12.9 km/h (8 mph), and the maximum recommended incline is 7.5 degrees. Range is rated at a 200 lb rider: 37 km (23 mi) on the standard NF22 pair, or 51.5 km (32 mi) with the optional 75 Ah batteries, and it falls with rider weight, hills and cold.

Ground clearance is 5" (127 mm) at the centre deck and 3.5" (89 mm) at the motor.

Front and rear suspension takes the jolt out of roots and curbs, tires run at 35 psi, and braking is electro-mechanical with freewheel mode. The LED lighting package includes ultrabright rear lights.

Will it fit your home and car?

It is 56.5" (1435 mm) long and 27" (686 mm) wide. It does not fold or split; the seat, batteries and tiller basket lift off and the tiller folds down. The assembled scooter weighs 300 lb (136.1 kg), so plan on moving it in parts or with a lift. A free home assessment can measure the doorway and turning space.

Batteries, charging and care

Two 12 V NF22 batteries, 37 lb (16.8 kg) each, are standard, or the optional 75 Ah pair at 52 lb (23.6 kg) each. The off-board charger takes 6 to 8 hours, and the first charge should run 12 hours. Charge after each use. We replace worn batteries.

Seat, tiller and controls

The Captain's high-back seat is 20" x 18" (508 x 457 mm), has limited recline, a headrest and a slide, and sits 27" to 28" (686 to 711 mm) off the ground in two positions. The infinitely adjustable tiller has an LCD console showing speed, odometer, fault codes and battery life, plus a phone charger.

Colours and what comes with it

Red, Stone Grey or Desert Tan shrouds. Included are a front basket, two rear-view mirrors, a safety flag, a lockable storage compartment and a Bluetooth speaker.

Delivery and service

We deliver assembled in Toronto and the GTA, set the seat and tiller, and show you how to drive, charge and store it. Our technicians service what we sell.

Golden's warranty covers the frame for 5 years, the drive train and electronics for 2 years and the batteries for 1 year.

How does it compare?

The Avenger separates into two 68 lb (30.8 kg) halves for a vehicle. The Companion GC440 is a full-size four-wheel scooter at a lower capacity.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Eagle fold or come apart?

It does not fold or split. The seat, batteries and tiller basket lift off and the tiller folds down.

What do the 75 Ah batteries add?

Range rises from 37 km (23 mi) to 51.5 km (32 mi), both at a 200 lb rider. Each 75 Ah battery weighs 52 lb (23.6 kg).

Can it go on grass and gravel?

Yes. The 13" pneumatic tires, front and rear suspension and 5" of deck clearance suit grass, gravel and packed trails.

Can I ride it on Toronto sidewalks?

Ontario treats scooter riders as pedestrians; Toronto allows mobility devices on sidewalks, under its own bylaws.
