Description
Eagle All Terrain GR596 is Golden's off-road scooter. It carries 500 lb (226.8 kg) on 13 in pneumatic turf tires, with adjustable suspension at both ends.
Who is it for?
- Riders up to 500 lb (226.8 kg) who want one scooter for the driveway, the cottage lane and the gravel path.
- Up to 54.7 km (34 mi) on the standard 75 Ah batteries.
What has to fit?
- Length 63 in (1600 mm), width 31.7 in (805 mm). Measure the door, gate and ramp first.
- The turn is 76 in (1930 mm), so it wants room to swing around. Height is 56.5 in (1435 mm) to the seat back.
- Ground clearance 4 in (102 mm); a kerb or root is a real obstacle. The deck sits 7 in (178 mm) off the ground and the seat 19.5 in (495 mm) above it.
- The captain's seat is 20 in by 18 in (508 by 457 mm) and 26.5 in (673 mm) off the ground, with a slide seat and two height positions.
What are its limits?
- For a van, the seat, arms and batteries come off. With the seat off, the height is 20.5 in (521 mm). Assembled weight is 377 lb (171 kg) with the 75 Ah batteries.
- The recommended maximum incline is 6 degrees. Do not climb snow, ice or wet grass, and do not reverse down a slope.
- Each battery is 52 lb (23.6 kg) and charges off-board with the supplied charger.
- A 200 amp controller drives the rear wheels. The LED package includes turn signals and a brake light, with freewheel mode and electronic speed control.
- The tires hold 28 psi. Check them before a long ride or heavy load.
- Grass, hills and cold weather all shorten the 54.7 km (34 mi) range figure.
- Two 100 Ah batteries are a factory upgrade: 407 lb (184.6 kg) assembled, with no published range.
How does it compare?

Does the Eagle GR596 come apart for a van or a lift?
The base is 208 lb (94.3 kg), and the scooter is up to 407 lb (184.6 kg) with 100 Ah batteries. Get a second person before you lift a piece.
Can I reverse down a slope?
No. Do not reverse down an incline, and do not sit on the scooter in freewheel while it is on a slope.
Can the 100 Ah batteries be fitted later?
Golden lists the 100 Ah pack as a factory upgrade, so we cannot promise a later field fit. Confirm with us before you buy, and order the scooter with the pack you want.
Where can I ride it in Ontario?
Medical scooters count as pedestrians in Ontario, but most municipalities set their own sidewalk bylaws. Check your city's rule first.
