Description
The Golden Cloud with Twilight PR515 is a two-size, five-zone power lift recliner for someone who needs powered help to stand and independent head, back, lumbar and leg positioning.
What does it do and how does it work?
Five powered zones move separately, so the chair lifts you to standing and then adjusts your head, back, lumbar and legs.
- Twilight Tilt tilts the seat and back as one unit, raising the legs.
- MaxiComfort moves the back and footrest independently, from upright to reclined.
- Power headrest and lumbar move on their own buttons.
- The AutoDrive hand control has six presets, four of them programmable.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits someone who can sit but needs the chair to stand them up, in a wide 23.5 in (597 mm) seat.
- Choose a bed for overnight sleep; the chair is not a bed.
- Choose a 3 position chair if you do not need separate head, lumbar and Twilight positions.
Will it fit?
Both sizes share the 23.5 in (597 mm) seat and 400 lb (181 kg) limit; the size changes depth, back and wall clearance.
- Small/Medium PR515-SME: 18.5 in (470 mm) seat depth, 28 in (711 mm) back, 23 in (584 mm) from the wall.
- Medium/Large PR515-MLA: 20 in (508 mm) seat depth, 31 in (787 mm) back, 24 in (610 mm) from the wall.
- The back releases for delivery; measure the doorway against 35.5 in (902 mm) or 39.5 in (1003 mm), and your seated height against the back.
Using it day to day
Keep the chair 23 in (584 mm) or 24 in (610 mm) from the wall and plug it straight into a 115-120 V outlet.
- Level it on the leg levelers and clear a high-pile carpet. No extension cord.
- The hand control moves between arms.
- Clean with a fabric-approved cleaner; keep the transformer and wiring dry.
What happens in a power outage?
Two 9 V alkaline batteries in the transformer bring the chair back to seated once; they are not included.
- Replace them after one use and every year.
- The backup is for one return to seated only.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Weight limit 400 lb (181 kg); exceeding it can tip the chair and voids the warranty.
- One person at a time; no sitting on the lap, arms or footrest.
- Keep children, pets and objects clear of the footrest and underside.
- Ask a physician before using the Trendelenburg position.
- Heat and vibrating massage are optional; SoftTouch fabrics are standard.
How does it compare?
- The Pride VivaLift Metro PLR925 is narrower at 33 in (838 mm) overall with a 21 in (533 mm) seat.
- The Pride VivaLift Elegance 2 PLR975 is sized for 5'4" to 5'10" in its medium size and uses a lithium pack.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move the hand control to the other arm?
Yes. Unplug the wire, route it through the J-clip on the other arm and reconnect it.
Can I lock the buttons?
Yes. Hold the program button for four seconds, then press S7 to disable it; repeat to enable.
What if the motors drift out of step?
Hold S1, S3 and S11 until the chair stops; that reclines it and recalibrates the control.
Warranty: lifetime on the lift and recline mechanisms and frame, 3 years on electrical parts; see the warranty terms.
