Description
The Handicare FST-300 is a free-standing portable track that carries a lift motor over a bed or chair without ceiling fixings, rated 300 lb (136 kg).
Who is it for, and who needs another lift?
- A room where a ceiling track cannot be fitted, or where the lift moves between rooms.
- A bed up to 5 ft (1.5 m) wide, under an 8 ft (2.4 m) track span.
- A permanent or temporary installation; the maker lists both.
- A complete lift in one box: this is the frame and trolley; motor, bar and sling are separate.
How does a transfer work with it?
- The track sits on two posts, and a trolley carries the portable motor.
- Savaria names the Handicare P-440; a newer motor needs the maker's approval.
- The motor lifts the person in a sling, and the sling, bar and motor must all match the person's weight.
- No ceiling fixing is used.
Will it fit the room?
- The track spans 8 ft (2.4 m) and the base is 36 in (91 cm) across, so the posts need floor space both sides.
- Height adjusts from 5 to 7.5 ft (1.52 to 2.29 m) in 2 in (51 mm) steps.
- Measure the bed, the floor area and the carer's path around the posts before ordering.
- A free home assessment checks the room and bed against the frame.
Can it move between locations?
- One person assembles it in minutes without tools; no part weighs more than 17 lb (7.7 kg).
- A protective carry bag with wheels is an accessory.
- A post cover adds pockets on the A-frame posts for bedside items.

- A sling is not part of the package and must be approved for the motor and bar.

Warranty
Warranty details
Handicare guarantees its equipment supplied as new, including track and accessories such as the FST-300 free-standing gantry, against failure from defects in material or workmanship.
- Term: 1 year from the date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever is shorter.
- Excludes normal wear and tear, damage by natural forces, neglect, misuse and deliberate damage.
- Void if the equipment is not serviced by Handicare or its authorized service agents as the maker recommends, or if an unauthorized person works on it.
- Handicare's liability is limited to replacing defective parts.
