Hoyer disposable full-back sling, five sizes

The Hoyer Full Back Disposable Sling (NA25620 extra small to NA25624 extra large) is a contoured loop sling with built-in boned head support and padded legs for a patient lift.

What does it do and how does it work?

It supports the back, head and legs and hangs from a loop spreader bar, so a carer can lift and transfer a person who cannot stand.

• The contoured shape gives the traditional Quickfit fit without side suspenders, and it is shaped to fit about 85 to 90% of clients.
• Integrated boned head support keeps the head steady.
• The legs are padded and the straps cross for a secure seat.
• NA25620 to NA25624 are polyester.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

It suits a person who needs a full body lift and a care setting that keeps one sling to one person.

• It is disposable and is not washed, so it is discarded when soiled or damaged.
• A full risk assessment decides the sling and the transfer method.

Will it fit?

The sling is rated 500 lb (227 kg) and fits a loop bar.

• It is charted for the Hoyer Advance, Elara, HPL450, HPL500, HPL700, Presence and Stature lifts.
• The sizes run from extra small to extra large: NA25620 (brown), NA25621 (red), NA25622 (yellow), NA25623 (green) and NA25624 (blue).
• The lowest limit of sling and lift wins; ask before pairing it with another maker's lift.

Using it day to day

From a seated position, feed each padded leg piece under and up between the legs without twisting it, cross the leg straps, attach them to the front hooks, then attach the shoulder straps.

• From lying, roll the person onto the sling with the top of the commode opening at the base of the spine, then bring the leg straps up and attach them to the shortest loops.
• Keep both shoulder straps the same length, and adjust both to change posture.
• Check the sling and stitching before every use, and never leave the person unattended.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

Do not wash a disposable sling; washing weakens it.

• Discard a sling that is bleached, torn, cut or frayed, and do not alter it.
• Use genuine Hoyer parts; the sling is not designed to mix with other makers' lifts.
