Description
Human Care's Lena is a freestanding gantry for a ceiling-lift motor, with no track in the ceiling. Articles 71806 and 71808 are the two rail lengths. The frame is rated to 300 kg (661 lb).
What does it do and how does it work?
Two poles and two feet hold a rail. A roller carries the motor along that rail, so the person can move sideways as well as up and down.
- Article 71806 is a 250 cm (98.4 in) rail and the frame weighs 42 kg (92.6 lb). Article 71808 is a 300 cm (118.1 in) rail and the frame weighs 43.5 kg (96 lb).
- Both are 145.4 cm (57.2 in) wide and 229 cm (90.2 in) high. The rail is white powder-coated aluminum. The poles and feet are white powder-coated steel.
- Order the motor separately: Altair or Roomer S if it should come off the rail, or HeliQ if it stays put.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for a room where a ceiling track cannot be fixed. Choose something else if the ceiling is under 229 cm (90.2 in), or if the floor slopes more than 5 degrees.
Will it fit?
We confirm the length before you order. The outer width is 145.4 cm (57.2 in), so measure the bed and the space the feet need beside it.
The rail top is 229 cm (90.2 in), and the motor hangs below it. Extra straps can add up to 100 cm (39.3 in) and are sold separately.
Using it day to day
Before each lift, check that the feet, poles, and rail are tight, the roller moves freely, and the rail is level. Set the frame under the person's centre of gravity. Do not move it while someone is in the sling, even with the optional four-caster kit, article 50872.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
One rail roller and one distance strap come with the frame. The motor, the carry bar, and the sling do not. Match a Human Care sling to the bar and the person. See patient lift slings. The lowest rating among the frame, the motor, and the sling is the limit. Do not alter the frame.
Which version should I choose?
Choose 71806 for a 250 cm rail and 71808 for a 300 cm rail. Width, height, and the 300 kg (661 lb) rating match.
How does it compare?
- The Human Care FlexiRail changes rail length and post height. Lena is fixed.
- A ceiling track leaves the floor clear when the building can take the fixings.
- The Hoyer Advance is a floor lift and does not need 229 cm of clear height.
Frequently asked questions
What if the roller will not run smoothly?
Look for something jammed in the rail, damaged roller wheels, and the nylon washer on the loop. The washer sits under the rail.
Can it lift someone who is lying on the floor?
The frame can stand over someone lying down when the motor and sling reach them. A short strap may not.
How should the frame be cleaned?
Use a damp cloth and dishwashing liquid, then dry it. Do not use a strong detergent, and do not flush the frame with water.
