Description
The Pride Jazzy Carbon folds into a flat bundle for car storage and travel. It weighs 39.6 lb (18 kg) without its battery and 43.6 lb (19.8 kg) ready to drive, and carries up to 300 lb (136 kg).
Who does the Jazzy Carbon suit?
- A rider within 300 lb who needs a portable chair for smooth floors and paths, with someone able to lift it.
- Its fixed 17 x 17 in seat has no tilt or recline. For larger seating choices, compare a configured power base.
- For a lighter chair with a larger seat, compare the Jazzy Ultra Light.
Will it fit?
- Check hip width against the 17 in seat and transfer space beside its flip-up armrests.
- The seat sits 20.25 in off the floor with the standard cushion, or 18.75 in without it.
- The chair is 24 in wide and 37 in long. Folded, it is 28.3 in high, 24 in wide and 12.2 in deep; test the vehicle opening and the lift.
- Turning radius is 24 in, ground clearance 2 in, and the rated obstacle is 1 in (25 mm). Avoid deep snow, high kerbs and rough ground.
How does it drive?
- Two 24 V 250 W brushless motors drive 8.5 in solid rear wheels, with 7 in solid front casters and front suspension.
- Top speed is 6 km/h (3.7 mph) from a 35 A brushless Micon controller.
- Braking is regenerative and electromechanical. Climbing ability is 6 degrees in controlled testing.
- The removable joystick has a USB charging port and slides along the armrest to set reach.
Folding and battery
- The chair folds without tools; make sure the frame latch locks when reopened.
- The 24 V 12 Ah lithium-ion pack (288 Wh) sits under the seat, weighs about 4 lb and releases by a buckle and handle.
- Range is up to 15 km (9.3 miles) per charge, tested at maximum weight capacity; rider load, terrain and battery condition shorten it. A spare pack is optional.
- Charge with the off-board 2 A charger in 6-8 hours. The light goes green near full, then charge 1-2 more hours. Charge fully before first use; full capacity arrives after 4-5 cycles.
- Do not drive while charging, never charge a frozen battery, and remove the pack for storage between -15 and 40 C.
Using it safely
- Use freewheel only with an attendant, on level ground, and never on an incline.
- Rear anti-tippers adjust: retract them only for flat indoor floors and extend them fully for slopes. Do not remove them.
- The chair is for indoors and flat paths near buildings, not grass, gravel roads, large slopes, rain or snow.
- A lap belt, seat cushion, padded back with pocket and under-seat storage are standard.
- There is no occupied-transport approval: transfer to a vehicle seat and secure the folded chair.
Colour, service and funding
- Pride Canada lists white as the available colour. Accessories include a travel bag, headrest, extra battery and armrest pouch.
- Have the controller settings checked by a service provider every 6-12 months.
- Funding may help: see who may help pay.
How does it compare?
- The Aerolux folds narrower.
