Description
The Ki Little Wave Clik is a paediatric ultralight manual wheelchair built to order on a width-growable frame.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Non-welded cross brace with a replaceable cross tube and TAPER LOK receivers.
- Index System dimples reset seat height, width, depth, centre of gravity, caster wing position, upholstery and seat pans as the child grows.
- The width-growable frame includes a one-time growth kit.
- The backrest folds down for transport.
- Transport weight is 12.5 lb (5.7 kg) at 12 by 12 in with 4 in poly casters and an angle-adjustable footplate, after the armrest and rear wheels come off.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A child learning to push who needs a light chair with the wheels in reach.
- An adult, or a rider over 165 lb (75 kg): this frame is not the chair. See an adult rigid wheelchair.
Will it fit?
- Seat width and depth are each 8 to 16 in (20.3 to 40.6 cm).
- Front seat height 11.5 to 20.5 in (29.2 to 52.1 cm), set by the caster size; rear seat height 11.5 to 20 in (29.2 to 50.8 cm), set by the wheel size.
- Measure the child seated: hip width, hips to knee, and knee to heel in shoes; a therapist or our free home assessment sets the order.
Using it day to day
- Reset the frame on the Index System as the child grows; the growth kit covers the one-time width change.
- Fold the backrest down and remove the armrest and rear wheels for the car.
- An optional dynamic fifth wheel adjusts in range and spring rate, can sit mid-wheel for the smallest riders, and removes for transport.
- The chair is WC-19 transit approved when built with the transit system option.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The rider and anything carried must total no more than 165 lb (75 kg), including in transit.
- Armrests and footplates are order choices; the Axiom for Kids seating is optional.
- The growth kit is a one-time width change.
- Warranty: frame and quick-release axles for as long as the original purchaser owns the chair; every other Ki Mobility part 1 year. See the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
- Rear wheels 18, 20, 22 or 24 in in MAXX spoke, mag or coloured mag; casters 3 to 6 in; camber 0 to 8 degrees.
- Armrests: integrated swing-away, height-adjustable T-arms, paediatric desk arms or flip-up.
- 22 frame and accent colours, with eight spoke guard designs.
How does it compare?
- Ki Ethos: an adult rigid chair.
- Rigid wheelchairs: the full range.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Clik grow with my child?
Seat height, width, depth and centre of gravity reset on the Index System dimples, and the frame includes a one-time growth kit.
What does the fifth wheel do?
It is a small removable wheel behind the rear axle that lets the wheels sit further forward; its range and spring rate adjust to build balance and wheeling skills.
Can the child ride in it in a vehicle?
Only when it is built with the WC-19 transit system option, and within the 165 lb (75 kg) limit.
