Description
The Leckey MyWay Plus is an open-frame gait trainer. A child walks inside it, held by a wraparound harness, with both hands free.
What does it do?
- It supports the child upright so they can practise stepping and take part in play.
- Patented indoor-outdoor castors have a brake, direction lock, anti-roll back and resistance.
- The frame carries part of the weight; it is a walking aid, not a transfer device.
Who is it for?
A child who can take steps with support and needs the frame to hold part of the weight while the arms stay free.
- Three frames cover roughly ages 1-5, 4-11 and 9-16.
- Frame limits are 25 kg, 50 kg and 80 kg; the harness limit also applies, and the lower figure wins.
Which frame and harness?
Frame size follows shoulder height to the floor and inside leg; harness size follows the waist at navel level.
- Frame 1: shoulder 590-870 mm, inside leg 240-410 mm, 25 kg, 14 kg frame.
- Frame 2: shoulder 870-1,190 mm, inside leg 400-610 mm, 50 kg, 7.5 kg frame plus a 10 kg upper unit.
- Frame 3: shoulder 1,070-1,490 mm, inside leg 550-810 mm, 80 kg, 11 kg frame plus an 11 kg upper unit.
- Harnesses 1 to 6 cover waists from 46 to 90 cm; sizes 1-3 are limited to 50 kg and sizes 4-6 to 80 kg.

Will it fit the room?
- Width is 570, 670 or 720 mm; length 840, 930 or 1,180 mm.
- On frame 1 the upper support unit does not separate from the frame.
- The MyWay Pedal fits frames 2 and 3 and lowers the maximum shoulder height by 100 mm.
- A free home assessment can check the doorway and turning space.
Hoisting in and out
The harness can be hoisted with optional straps 173-1800.
- Use only those straps and a hoist the maker approves.
- Connect the straps to the harness hoisting points front and back, then to the hoist.
- One carer runs the hoist while a second attaches the harness to the frame.
- To leave the frame, raise the hoist until the straps are taut, then release the harness buckles.
Care and warranty
- Machine wash the harness at 40 C on a gentle program, in the wash bag, and do not tumble dry.
- Harness life is up to three years, depending on use, washing and weight.
- Check the frame, castors, straps and buckles daily.
- One year of warranty covers the harness, and three years cover the other non-upholstered components.

Yes, with hoist straps 173-1800 and a hoist the maker approves.
What if the frame and harness limits differ?
The lower figure applies. A size 3 frame with a size 3 harness is limited to 50 kg by the harness.

Can the harness be machine washed?
Yes, at 40 C on a gentle program, in the wash bag. Do not tumble dry.

- Non-upholstered components: 3 years.
- Harness: 1 year. Expected harness life is up to 3 years, depending on use, washing and the weight carried.
