Description
The Magic Mobility XT4 is built for ground that is not flat. Four wheels are driven, each by its own 700 W motor, and the front and rear arms pivot independently to help keep the wheels in contact with uneven ground.
Where the XT4 is meant to go
- Four knobby off-road tires run at low pressure, which Magic Mobility says reduces the risk of damaging trails.
- Ground clearance is 4 in (100 mm), it climbs an obstacle up to 120 mm, and it stops in 2.1 m from top speed.
- All four wheels are driven for mud, sand, snow and long grass, and two Group 31 batteries give up to 19 miles (30.6 km).
- A battery pair weighs 62 kg, and the heaviest single part is 31 kg, so plan the lift and the transport.
Steering and suspension
- Servo power steering means the front wheels follow the joystick, so reversing and three-point turns need less effort.
- Front and rear suspension sit on pivoting arms that follow the contours of the ground, helping keep the wheels loaded.
- Top speed is 6.2 mph (10 km/h), or 3.1 mph with the seat fully raised.
- Static stability is rated to 15 degrees, and it climbs a 10 degree slope under power.
Will it fit?
- The chair is 27.5 in wide and 39 in long, and it turns in 55.5 in, so it needs a wide route and a large turning space.
- It starts at 320 lbs with batteries; the lift and tilt build is 158 kg without batteries and 220 kg with them.
- The seat builds from 13 in to 23 in wide and 13 in to 24 in deep, set 19, 20 or 21 in off the floor. With the lift and tilt it adjusts from 480 to 780 mm.
Seating and powered functions
- Power tilt, recline, a 95 to 180 degree legrest and 12 in of seat lift are specified with the chair.
- Capacity is 400 lbs, or 350 lbs with elevate or tilt. Recline runs 95 to 160 degrees and tilt 50 degrees.
- JAY cushions and backs and WHITMYER headrests can be fitted, and we carry wheelchair cushions separately.
- Six LED lights front and rear, with an indicator on each side, are standard, and the chair is crash tested to ISO 7176-19.
Warranty and funding
- Warranty is 5 years on the frame, bogie, trailing arms and forks, and 12 months on the full chair.
- Funding may be available for mobility equipment in Ontario. See who may help pay, or book a free home assessment first.
Delivery and setup
- We deliver and set up across Toronto and the GTA, set the powered functions with the rider, and service what we sell.
- The chair is built to order, so seating, powered functions and the frame colour are chosen with your quote.
- See the other standard power wheelchairs, the full power wheelchair range, or the Magic Mobility Frontier V6.
Frequently asked questions
What does driving all four wheels actually change?
Each wheel is driven on its own and the arms follow the ground independently, which aids traction on uneven ground.
How much weight can the chair take with a seat lift fitted?
400 lbs on the standard chair, or 350 lbs with power elevate or tilt. The seat lift raises the seat 12 in.
Will the tires damage a trail or a lawn?
They run at low pressure, which spreads the load and, in the maker's words, reduces the risk of damaging trails.
