Description
The Pride Go-Go Ultra X 3-wheel, model S39, is a travel scooter for one rider up to 300 lbs (136 kg).
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A rider up to 300 lbs (136 kg) who can lift a 29.5 lb (13.4 kg) front section.
- Slopes over 6 degrees, or obstacles over 2.25 in (5.7 cm), are outside the rating. Clearance at the motor is 1.25 in (3.2 cm). Solid tires, no suspension.
- Three wheels are less stable than four: slow down before a turn and keep the anti-tip wheels on. The anti-tips can catch on a curb.
- A current 3-wheel Go-Go is the Go-Go Sport. The four-wheel Ultra X (S49) is discontinued.
- If you need a cushion or back support for posture, ask your therapist about a folding power wheelchair.
Check the pieces
- Five pieces, no tools: seat, battery pack, basket, front section and rear section.
- Front section 29.5 lbs, seat 23 lbs (10.4 kg), 12 Ah battery pack 20 lbs (9 kg). With batteries the scooter is 95.75 lbs (43.4 kg). Without batteries it is 76.25 lbs (34.6 kg).
- Width 19.25 in (49 cm). Turning radius 36.5 in (93 cm); a full turn needs about 73 in (185 cm), and a three-point turn about 40.75 in (103.5 cm) of width. Length is 40.25 in (102 cm).
- Top speed up to 6.9 km/h (4.3 mph). The seat is 17 by 17 in, black vinyl, and sets from 21.5 to 23 in above the ground; it swivels and the armrests flip up. Colour black.
Batteries come with it
- Two 12 V 12 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries in one lift-off pack. The 2 amp dual-voltage charger is included and charges the pack on or off the scooter.
- On that 12 Ah pack, range is up to 12.9 km (8 mi) at 200 lbs and up to 10 km (6.2 mi) at 300 lbs.
- Allow 8 to 14 hours, plus 4 hours after the charger shows full; if you ride weekly or less, give it 24 hours a week and 48 hours once a month. Use the supplied charger, not an extension cord.
- The console has a key, horn, battery meter, speed dial and thumb throttle, with the charger port on the tiller; it powers down after about 20 minutes idle. A freewheel lever is on the rear section.
- IPX4 rated: keep the console dry, never hose it, and avoid rain, snow, ice, salt and standing water. It runs between -25 and 50 degrees C and is not a seat in a moving vehicle.
- The front basket holds up to 10 lbs (4.5 kg). We replace worn batteries.
