Description
The Pride Jazzy Evo 613 is a mid-wheel power wheelchair with sealed lead-acid batteries, a 22 in (55.9 cm) base and a 300 lbs (136 kg) capacity.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Mid-wheel drive: two in-line motors drive 13 in (33 cm) solid wheels, with 5 in (12.7 cm) casters and a 22 in (55.9 cm) turn.
- Suspension: Active-Trac with Mid-Wheel 6 keeps all six wheels on the ground.
- Speed and range: up to 5.1 mph (8.2 km/h) and 14.4 miles (23 km) on two U-1 batteries.
- Seat: a memory foam high-back in 16, 18 or 20 in widths, depth matched to the width, swivels on a single post, 19.75-21.25 in (50-54 cm) off the floor.
- Battery: two 12V sealed lead-acid U-1 batteries, 22 lbs (10 kg) each, with a 3.5 amp off-board charger.
- Controls: a 40A PG GC3 controller with electronic regenerative and electromechanical brakes.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits a rider up to 300 lbs (136 kg) who needs a 22 in (55.9 cm) base and turn.
- It suits indoor and paved outdoor use.
- Choose the Jazzy Evo 614 for the next model, or the Evo 613 Li for lithium.
Will it fit?
- Rider: 300 lbs (136 kg); high-back seat 16, 18 or 20 in (40.6, 45.7 or 50.8 cm) wide, with depth 16-20 in matched to the width.
- Seat height: 19.75-21.25 in (50-54 cm) to the floor.
- Base: 22 in (55.9 cm) wide, 41 in (104 cm) long with the footrest and 35 in (88.9 cm) without; overall width 25.5 in (64.8 cm).
- Ground: 3 in (76 mm) clearance at mid-frame, 2.5 in (63 mm) at the motor, a 1.75 in (45 mm) obstacle, a 6 degree slope and a 22 in (55.9 cm) turning radius.
Using it day to day
- Charge through the controller socket with the 3.5 amp off-board charger; 8-14 hours, and if the LED is not complete in 24 hours, unplug and call.
- New batteries need a full charge, a short run and another 8-14 hour charge, repeated four or five times.
- Freewheel: push both levers down to disengage the motors and pull them up for drive; do it only on level ground.
- Transport: the belt is not a seat belt; a vehicle needs a WTORS and a transit-secure chair, and the freewheel levers are never tie-downs.
- Before driving, check the charge and that both freewheel levers are up.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Stay within 300 lbs (136 kg), with one rider.
- The maximum slope is 6 degrees and the obstacle limit is 1.75 in (45 mm).
- The sealed batteries can travel by air, bus or train; check with the carrier.
- Warranty: frame 5 years; electronics and drivetrain 2 years in Canada; SLA batteries 13 months.
How does it compare?
- The Jazzy Evo 614 is the next model in the series.
- The Evo 613 Li is the same frame with one lithium pack.
- Six colours are offered, and Synergy seating is optional.
- See all standard power wheelchairs or read how to choose a wheelchair.
Frequently asked questions
Do the batteries need water?
No. They are sealed, non-spillable lead-acid batteries, so there is nothing to top up.
Can I take it on a plane?
The sealed batteries can travel by air, bus or train; confirm the carrier's requirements before you go.
How should I store it for months?
Fully charge it, disconnect the battery harnesses, store it warm and dry, and never charge a frozen battery.
