Description
The SystemRoMedic ReTurnBelt disposable, article 6235, is a single-use non-woven transfer belt in size L for sit-to-stand transfers and gait practice.
What does it do and how does it work?
It fits around the hips and gives the carer handles at each side while the person rises and stands.
- The elastic upper section fits the waist, and the rigid lower section sits down at the sit bones.
- The quick-connect clasp closes without tensioning the strap, and a click confirms it.
- A locking strap can be looped around the ReTurn platform for extra security while the person stands.
- Two handles give the carer a grip from either side.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a larger adult with a waist of 125-145 cm and a carer who needs a firm hold during a standing transfer.
- It is useful in short-term care and infection-control settings, where the belt is discarded instead of laundered.
- It can also be used without a ReTurn platform, for gait training.
- For a washable belt, choose the reusable ReTurnBelt or a gait belt.
Which size do I need?
Measure the waist at its widest point, over light clothing.
- S is 6233 (90-105 cm), M is 6234 (105-125 cm), L is 6235 (125-145 cm) and XL is 6236 (135-155 cm).
- L and XL overlap between 135 cm and 145 cm; both close on a person in that band.
- Size L is sold as a pack of five.
Using it day to day
Fit the belt with the elastic section upward and the rigid section downward, and guide the lower edge to the sit bones.
- Secure the full length of the front Velcro strap, then close the clasp without tensioning the strap.
- Brake the ReTurn wheels, help the person lean forward and take the handles as they rise.
- For the ReTurn7500, the locking strap goes around the vertical handle once the person is standing; undo the clasp before sitting.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
The safe working load is 205 kg (450 lb).
- It is single-use: do not launder it, and discard it when soiled or when another product is needed.
- The body is hydrophobic non-woven polypropylene.
- SupportStraps, sold separately, add side support on the ReTurn7500, ReTurn7400 and ReTurn7600; the platforms are under patient lifts.
How does it compare?
- Reusable ReTurnBelt: the nylon version, with a life of up to 10 years and laundering between users.
- Drive RTL6292 gait belt: a washable belt for walking practice.
- Sit-to-stand lifts: the platforms it pairs with.
