Description
The RGK Octane Sub4 is a rigid daily wheelchair in grade 9 titanium, built to the rider's measurements.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Grade 9 titanium is hand built to measure and will not rust or corrode in salt water.
- Titanium soaks up road vibration, so the push feels smoother than aluminium.
- The frame is under 8.8 lb (4 kg) excluding wheels and cushion, guaranteed; it is the frame, not the chair you push.
- The frame is rigid, with quick-release rear wheels for lifting it into a car.
- RGK takes over 30 measurements to a 5 mm tolerance before building.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- An active rider who wants a made-to-measure rigid chair that stays stiff on the push.
- A rider who needs a folding frame: the Octane FX has a Q-Lock front fold, or see folding wheelchairs.
- The lightest frame: the RGK Veypr Sub4 is carbon fibre and RGK calls it 10 percent lighter.
Will it fit?
- Seat width and depth run 250 to 440 mm in 5 mm steps.
- Front seat height is 380 to 520 mm and rear 360 to 550 mm; back height is 203 to 431 mm in 5 mm steps.
- Back angle is 10 degrees forward and 10 back from 90; camber 1 to 3 degrees; centre of gravity 0 to 178 mm.
- Frame angle follows the occupied frame length, most often 60 to 90 degrees.

Using it day to day
- Release the rear wheels to lift the frame into a car, and check the axles before you sit.
- The Airtech backrest is tension adjustable, and the footrest is set to the rider on the order.
- Wheel locks hold the chair still when parked, not to slow it.
- Titanium resists salt and water, so road spray and rain are fine.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Transit is not approved: a tied-down chair is not a vehicle seat, so transfer or use a crash-tested chair.
- We confirm the weight limit for your build with RGK, and it is on the quote.
- Warranty: 12 months on parts, 5 years on the frame and cross-braces. See the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
- Rigid frame: the Octane Sub4. Front fold: the Octane FX.
- Colours come from the Cerakote palette; screen colours differ from the paint.
- Frame angle, camber and centre of gravity are set at the fitting.
How does it compare?
- RGK Veypr Sub4: the carbon fibre sister chair.
- Rigid wheelchairs: the wider range.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Octane Sub4 and the Octane FX?

Is the Octane Sub4 titanium?
Yes, grade 9 titanium, which does not rust and resists salt water.
How light is it really?
RGK guarantees the frame under 8.8 lb (4 kg) with wheels and cushion off; the chair you push weighs more.
Can it be tied down in a vehicle?
No. Transit is not approved, so transfer to a vehicle seat or use a crash-tested chair.
