Description
The RGK Tiga Series is a made-to-measure rigid wheelchair in 7020 aluminium, built to the rider since 2013.
What does it do, and how does it work?
- More than 30 measurements, most to a 5 mm tolerance, set the frame to the rider.
- 7020 aluminium frame with 30 mm tubing and a hollow forged castor arm.
- Fixed or folding backrest; fixed or adjustable axle and footrest position; open or closed frame.
- Camber at 0, 1, 2, 3 or 5 degrees and centre of gravity are set at the fitting.
- 17 to 25.35 lbs (7.7 to 11.5 kg); the 125 kg (275.5 lbs) limit includes the rider and anything carried.
- The frame is rigid and the rear wheels have quick-release axles.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A rider who wants a light rigid chair built to their own measurements, with camber and centre of gravity set at the fitting.
- Not a chair off a width chart.
- A front fold for travel: the Tiga FX. A frame under 4 kg: the Tiga Sub4. Titanium: the RGK Octane Sub4.
Will it fit?
- Seat 9.85 to 19.65 in (250 to 500 mm) wide and 9.85 to 19.65 in deep, with bariatric sizes to 550 mm.
- Front and rear seat height 15 to 21.5 in; back 6 to 23.5 in; back angle -10 to +20 degrees.
- Camber tilts the rear wheels in at the top, so a higher camber makes the chair wider.

Using it day to day
- The fitting sets the seat, back, axle and footrest positions, camber and centre of gravity.
- The backrest can be fixed or folding, and the rear wheels release for transport.
- The Airtech seat and back upholstery adjust in tension.
- Wheel locks hold the chair still; they are not for slowing it down.
- Quoted before it is built.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- 125 kg (275.5 lbs), rider plus anything carried; the bariatric width does not raise that limit.
- The rigid frame does not fold; the Tiga FX is the front-fold model in the series.
- The chair has no tied-down or crash-tested setup, so transfer to a vehicle seat.
- 12 months on parts; 5 years on the frame and cross-braces. See the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
- Fixed or folding backrest; fixed or adjustable axle and footrest; open or closed frame.
- Frame finishes and colour anodizing on key parts, from the RGK colour booklet.
How does it compare?
- The Tiga FX adds a front fold for travel; the Tiga Sub4 has a frame under 4 kg, excluding the rear wheels and cushion.
- The RGK Octane Sub4 is titanium rather than aluminium.
- More chairs: rigid wheelchairs.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Tiga aluminium or titanium?
Aluminium; the frame is 7020 aluminium with 30 mm tubing. The Octane Sub4 is the titanium chair in the RGK range.
What is the difference between the Tiga and the Tiga Sub4?
The Sub4 has a frame under 4 kg, excluding the rear wheels and cushion; the Tiga runs from 17 lbs (7.7 kg) for the whole chair.
Can the backrest fold down?
RGK builds the Tiga with a fixed or a folding backrest, chosen on the order.
Does camber change the width of the chair?
Yes; camber tilts the rear wheels in at the top, and a higher camber makes the chair wider across the wheels.
