Description
Savaria Advantage ReadyWide MC7WMLB-L is a long-term care bed with mobility at any height, a floor lock, foot-end controls, Smart Stop and factory under-bed lighting.
What does it do and how does it work?
- ReadyWide expands the sleep surface from 35 inches (89 cm) to 39 or 42 inches (99 or 107 cm) with a push-button, two-click system.
- The deck adjusts from 7-7/8 to 31 inches (20 to 79 cm) above the floor.
- Four DC linear actuators move the back and knee sections and the height; the back raises to 70 degrees and the knee to 30 degrees.
- Smart Stop pauses the deck at 12.5 inches (318 mm); only the foot-end staff control can lower it past that point.
- The pendant has 11 functions, and the foot-end control has 16 with lockout and Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg.
- The under-bed light can be switched to a discreet floor-level glow for night checks.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits a long-term care resident in a facility, with staff who adjust the height and position through the day.
- It is not a homecare bed; choose a homecare or full electric bed for a house.
- It is not for a resident whose combined weight, mattress and accessories exceed 500 lb (227 kg).
Will it fit?
- Sleep surface lengths are 76, 80 or 84 inches (193, 203 or 213 cm); overall length is 82, 86 or 90 inches (208, 218 or 229 cm).
- The 84 inch sleep surface needs the 4 inch extender kit.
- Width is 35 inches (89 cm) standard, or 39 or 42 inches (99 or 107 cm) with ReadyWide; measure the doorway and the room for the wider setting.
Using it day to day
- Use the pendant for the head, foot and height, and the foot-end control for the staff functions and lockout.
- Smart Stop pauses the bed at 12.5 inches; press the foot-end control to resume the last part of the descent.
- Switch the under-bed light to the floor setting for nighttime checks.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The bed carries a 500 lb (227 kg) safe working load, including the mattress, rails and accessories.
- The mattress, rails and boards are separate; rails must be matched to the bed to reduce entrapment gaps.
- An on-board battery backup is an optional factory accessory, not part of the base bed.
How does it compare?
- The Advantage Q-Series bed is the grid-deck sibling with its own expander kit.
- See long term care beds for other facility frames.
- See full electric hospital beds when the bed is for a home.
