Description
The ZooMe 3-wheel recreational scooter is not an indoor mobility scooter. Drive limits it to outdoor use by one adult, and it does not brake when you let go of the throttle.
Who should not ride it
- Adults 18 and over only, up to 300 lbs (136 kg), one rider. No passengers, cargo or animals. Wear a helmet and eye protection.
- Not indoors, not in stores, and not on roads or streets. No night riding.
- Do not ride with a heart condition, while pregnant, or with a head, back or neck ailment or prior surgery there. Do not ride if a condition affects dexterity or understanding the safety rules.
- For shops and pavements, see travel scooters or the ZooMe Auto-Flex.
It coasts until you brake
- Letting go of the throttle only coasts. Stop with the hand brake, which has a parking lock for an incline. There is no automatic brake.
- Ride seated with both feet on the footboard; that is the position Drive designed and tested.
- Speed up to 24 km/h (15 mph). Length 41 in (104 cm), width 27 in (69 cm), height 29 in (74 cm), turning radius 22 in (56 cm).
- Clearance 4.25 in (10.8 cm). Do not take a taller fixed obstacle. Slopes up to 10 degrees, straight, never backwards, and on the slowest setting downhill.
- The frame is 78 lbs (35.4 kg) and does not come apart. The handlebar folds, and the seat and basket lift off. Seat 14.5 by 10 in, no backrest or armrests.
Batteries
- Three 12 V 12 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries (36 V). The charger is included. Replace all three at once. We replace worn batteries.
- Range up to 32 km (20 mi), estimated; surfaces, inclines, curves, wind and a heavier rider shorten it.
- First charge 8 to 12 hours, then ride to about half and charge 8 to 12 hours again. Daily riders charge overnight; infrequent riders give it 10 to 14 hours weekly. Never ride while it is charging and do not use an extension cord.
- The handlebar has a throttle, hand brake, horn, forward and reverse switch, high and low speed switch, key and battery gauge, with a headlight pod that tilts.
- Ideal temperature is about -8 to 50 degrees C; batteries may freeze in extreme cold. Avoid rain, snow, ice, salt, water, sand and gravel. If it gets wet, let it dry 8 to 12 hours and never hose it off.
- Check the brakes, throttle return and tire pressure before each ride, and have it inspected yearly by a service provider.
