Description
The Drive ZooMe Auto-Flex folds itself by key fob, for a rider who cannot work a manual fold but can still lift about 55 lbs (24.9 kg).
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A rider up to 300 lbs (136 kg) who mostly stays indoors or on level pavement.
- Drive says to avoid uneven ground, soft surfaces, tall grass and loose gravel.
- If 55 lbs is too much to lift, the Go-Go Carbon is 35 lbs (15.9 kg) without its battery.
- If you need a cushion or back support for posture, ask your therapist about a folding power wheelchair.
Check the lift and the turn
- Open size: 37 in (94 cm) long, 17 in (43 cm) wide and 33 in (84 cm) high. Turning radius 47.2 in (120 cm).
- It folds in one piece, by key fob or a rear switch, in 15 seconds or less. On the fob, one button unfolds and the other folds; it stops halfway as a safety check and needs a second press. If the fob is dead, use the rear switch; if the scooter battery is flat, plug in the charger and use the switch. A manual release lever is the backup.
- The folded scooter with the battery out weighs 55 lbs (24.9 kg). With the battery it is 60 lbs (27.2 kg). No folded size is published, so ask us to measure one.
- Ground clearance 1.6 in (4.1 cm). Slopes up to 6 degrees, straight up or down. A freewheel lever lets you push it; never use it on a slope.
- There is no headlight, only front and rear reflectors. Do not plan on night riding. The tiller has a battery gauge, speed dial, throttle, reverse, key switch and horn.
Battery and flying
- One removable 25.9 V 10 Ah lithium pack is included, about 5 lbs (2.3 kg). Range is up to 21 km (13 mi) per charge.
- The watt-hour rating is printed on the pack label; read it before you fly. The airline must approve the scooter. Do not treat any "airline safe" wording as approval.
- The 2 amp off-board charger is included. Give it a 24 hour first charge, charge after every trip, and give it 10 to 14 hours once a week when it is used only now and then. A spare pack and an external charging dock are options, not included.
- Operate between about -8 and 50 degrees C. If the scooter gets wet, towel-dry it and leave it 8 to 12 hours. Store it charged with the pack disconnected; long storage can flat-spot the tires. Have it inspected yearly by a service provider.
- A replacement pack depends on the serial number; we confirm the right one. We replace worn batteries when the pack no longer holds a day's use.

Frequently asked questions
What if the key fob battery is dead?
Use the rear switch, or the manual release lever. Take the lithium pack out before you rely on a fold.
Can I ride it after dark?
Not as sold. It has reflectors only, and Drive says not to drive at night without proper lighting.
Is blue the only colour?
Yes. Drive lists Blue only for the Auto-Flex sold here.

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the ZooMe Auto-Flex to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship.
- Main frame, seat post, platform and frame welds: limited lifetime.
- Motor and gearbox, brakes (electromagnetic function), controller, PC board, harness, joystick, throttle and charger: 24 months.
- Batteries: 12 months, under the battery maker's own warranty.
- Accessories supplied by Drive: 1 year.
- Shrouds, tires, upholstery, armrest pads, fuses and other wear parts are covered only if defective on delivery.
- Excludes labour, service calls and shipping unless Drive authorizes them. Service is by an authorized Drive provider.
