AMG Medical MedPro aluminum underarm crutches, item 720-791, are the youth pair for a user 4 ft 6 in to 5 ft 2 in (137 to 157 cm), rated 300 lb (136 kg).

What does it do and how does it work?

The crutch carries weight through a double-extruded aluminum centre tube, with the arm pad at the top and the hand grip below it.

• The frame is lightweight anodized aluminum, with weight-bearing strength up to 300 lb (136 kg).
• Dual brass push-buttons set the height. The centre tube is labelled in 1 in (2.5 cm) steps.
• A silencing collar cuts noise and vibration between the tubes.
• Underarm pads have thick cushioning, internal ribbing and reinforced ends.
• Hand grips are high-impact ABS with washable natural sponge cushioning, and they resist perspiration.
• Tips are ribbed and contoured, with a metal ring in the tip.
• A curved stair deflector sits at the lower tube.

Using it day to day

Set the height with the two brass push-buttons. The centre tube shows the height in 1 in (2.5 cm) steps. Set both crutches to the same labelled step.

• These are underarm crutches. A forearm crutch uses a cuff, not an arm pad.
• Pads, grips and tips are packed with the pair. Those accessories are dry natural rubber with denatured proteins.
