Description
The AquaSense 770-510 from Drive Medical is a white bath chair with a blow-moulded back and no arms, for someone who steps into the tub or shower and needs a back.
What does it do and how does it work?
The rust-resistant aluminum frame is rated 300 lbs (136 kg) for bathing or showering.
- Textured blow-moulded seat and back, with drainage holes and a handle opening on each side of the back.
- Four legs end in aqua-blue rubber tips, 1.1" (28.6 mm). They are not suction cups.
- Push pins set the seat from 14" to 21" (36-53 cm). Five M6 x 34 mm knobs and four M6 x 57 mm knobs join the parts, with no tools.
- The chair comes apart at the knobs. It does not fold flat.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Someone who can step into the tub or a walk-in shower and wants a back while washing.
- No back needed: the AquaSense 770-500 is this chair without the back.
- Cannot step over the tub wall: a transfer bench leaves two legs outside.
- Needs a handhold on the chair: choose a seat with arms. This one has none.
Will it fit?
- All four tips must stand on the flat tub or shower floor, not on the curved rim.
- Set the chair in the tub so the legs clear the walls, or book a free home assessment.
- Seat height is 14" to 21" (36-53 cm) from the floor to the top of the seat.
- The seat is 19.9" wide by 12.0" deep (505 x 305 mm). The back is 19.9" wide by 12.0" high.
Using it day to day
- Press each push pin until it comes fully through a hole. Set all four legs before anyone sits.
- Fasten the knobs, then wipe the plastic dry after the bath.
- Bathroom safety items cannot be returned after use. See the return policy.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Use it in a bathtub or a shower. It is not a toilet frame and not a step.
- The 300 lbs (136 kg) rating is for a person sitting on the frame.
- The tips do not suction, so the floor has to be level.
- No commode opening and no spray cut-out. Hang a handheld spray on the wall.
- Limited lifetime warranty; see the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
- 770-510: straight back and no arms.
- 770-537: contoured seat and spray cut-outs, 15" to 22" (38-56 cm), still 300 lbs (136 kg).
- 770-525: folds flat, 250 lbs (113 kg), seat 15" to 20" (38-51 cm).
How does it compare?
- The 770-500 drops the back when that back would hit the shower wall.
- A transfer bench suits someone who cannot step into the tub.
- Other seats are on the bath benches page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a worn rubber tip?
Yes. Tip A11-482 is aqua-blue rubber, 1.1" (28.6 mm), in a set of four for the 28.6 mm leg.
Does the back adjust on its own?
No. Only the four legs change height. The back stays fixed once the knobs are on.
Can I use it over the toilet?
No. It is a bath and shower seat, not a frame that stands around the bowl.
