Description
The AquaSense 770-537 ergonomic adjustable bath chair with backrest is a contoured white seat and back on a rust-resistant aluminum frame for a bathtub or shower.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The contoured, textured seat and back follow the body.
- Drainage holes let water through, and side cut-outs give room to reach a shower spray.
- Two handles are moulded into the seat to help the person settle into position.
- Push-pin legs set the seat height from 15 in to 22 in (38 to 56 cm), with no tools.
- The rust-resistant aluminum frame carries 300 lbs (136 kg) with the person seated.
- Non-skid rubber tips on all four legs stand on the tub or shower floor.
- Push buttons snap the legs into the seat; assembly takes minutes.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a person who can step over the tub wall and sit at 15 in to 22 in, but cannot stand to shower.
- Same seat without a back: AquaSense 770-535.
- Needs arms to push up: choose a model with arms from the bath benches category.
- Cannot step over the wall: a transfer bench crosses it, and a bath lift lowers the person in.
Will it fit?
- Seat height is 15 in to 22 in (38 to 56 cm): measure from the tub floor to the height the person can sit down onto.
- The four legs need a flat, level floor inside the tub or shower.
- The person must clear the tub wall; the seat does not cross it.
- The limit is 300 lbs (136 kg) seated.
Using it day to day
Set all four legs to the same height, then press each push button to lock it.
- Stand it on the flat floor of the tub or shower, not on the rim.
- Leave it between showers; lift it out to clean the tub floor.
- Rinse the seat, back and frame after use.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It suits a bathtub or walk-in shower with a flat floor and room for four legs.
- The 300 lbs (136 kg) capacity is for sitting, not standing on the chair.
- It does not fold, so it stays assembled.
- No arms: a person who pushes up from armrests needs another model.
- Limited lifetime warranty; see the Warranty tab.
How does it compare?
- AquaSense 770-535: the same contoured seat and height range without the back.
- AquaSense 770-510: a straight blow-moulded back and a lower range, 14 in to 21 in (36 to 53 cm).
- AquaSense 770-525: folds flat, but carries 250 lbs (113 kg) and stops at 20 in (51 cm).
Frequently asked questions
Can the backrest be taken off?
No. The 770-537 comes as seat and back together; the backless seat is the 770-535.
Can it stay in the tub between showers?
Yes. The aluminum frame resists rust; lift the chair out when you clean the tub floor.
Does it have suction cups?
No. It stands on four rubber tips, so it needs a flat floor rather than a curved or sloped surface.
Can I use it in a walk-in shower?
Yes, if the shower floor is flat and wide enough for the four legs. The chair is free-standing.
