Ascend & Go Sit to Stand Patient Lift

The Ascend & Go MP-P02 sit-to-stand aid supports a person who can put some weight through their legs during a transfer. They place their feet on the platform, lean against the padded knee supports and use the crossbar to rise with a carer's help. The pivoting seat then closes behind them for a supported seated move. It is a manual aid, with no motor or battery to charge. Its 400 lb (181 kg) rating and 50 lb (23 kg) frame suit a different need from a full-body sling lift; a person unable to bear weight needs another transfer plan.

Description

The Ascend & Go MP-P02 is a manual sit-to-stand transfer aid: the person uses their own standing ability with a carer's help, then rests on a pivoting seat during the move to another surface.

Who is it for, and who needs another lift?

  • Partial weight bearing: for a person who can bear some weight through their legs and grasp the support bar.
  • Not a full-body lift: the MP-P02 does not raise someone from the floor, and a person who cannot bear weight needs a full-body sling lift instead.
  • Capacity: 400 lbs (181 kg), on a 50 lbs (23 kg) frame.

How does a transfer work with it?

  • Rising: the person places feet on the footplate, leans against the padded knee supports and holds the crossbar to rise with the carer's help.
  • Seat: the pivoting seat sections then swing behind the person, so they can sit during the move rather than stand throughout.
  • Wheels: dual locking wheels hold the aid steady while the person rises and sits.
  • No power: the aid is manual, with no motor or battery to charge.

Will it fit your home?

  • Base: a foot pedal widens the base for stability and narrows it for the route.
  • Measuring: measure the chair, the toilet and the full doorway path, including the space the carer needs.
  • Clearance: published base-width figures disagree, so ask us to verify the stock unit if the route is tight.

Which harness fits it?

  • MP-A09: the maker lists its MP-A09 transfer harness as an optional accessory for this model; it is not assumed to be included.
  • Compatibility: no other sling or harness is claimed for the MP-P02; ask us before pairing it with anything else.

Battery, charging and care

  • No battery: there is nothing to charge, and no lifts-per-charge figure applies.
  • Routine: check the wheels, pads and fasteners, and keep the footplate clear before each transfer.

Which versions and options are there?

  • One model: the MP-P02 is the manual aid; it has no powered version.
  • Option: the MP-A09 harness is the maker accessory, quoted separately.

Funding help for a sit-to-stand lift in Ontario

Depending on the person's needs and assessment, funding may be available for mobility equipment in Ontario. Our team works with funding programs every week and can point you to the right route before you buy. See our funding guide or call (905) 798-1853.

How do delivery, setup and service work?

We deliver and set up across Toronto and the GTA, show the person and their carers how the aid works, and service what we sell. A free home assessment can check the route and transfer first; see free home assessment and service.

How does it compare?

The Span F500S is the powered sit-to-stand lift, and the patient lifts hub lists the full-body sling lifts; see the sit-to-stand lifts range.

Frequently asked questions

Must the person be able to stand?

Yes. The maker describes the Ascend & Go for people who can bear some weight and take part in rising.

Can it recover someone from the floor?

No. It starts with a person seated and able to take part in standing; a floor recovery needs a full-body lift.

Is it electric?

No. The MP-P02 is manual, with no battery and nothing to charge.

What does the pivoting seat do?

The seat sections swing behind the person after they rise, so they can sit during the transfer.

Can it pass through a narrow doorway?

Measure the full doorway and route, then compare them with the actual stock unit; published widths disagree.
