Description
The BIOS Medical offset cane, item BD778, is the coffee finish of a single-tip cane with a wrist strap.
What does it do and how does it work?
The handle is offset so the grip is easier on the hand and wrist than a straight crook.
- A non-slip rubber foot is on the shaft.
- The wrist strap stays with the cane when you let the grip go.
- The shaft is aluminium. Height runs from 31 to 39 in (79 to 99 cm) on a push button, in 1 in (2.5 cm) steps.
- The limit is 300 lb (136 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits someone who wants one-sided support and a grip that is kinder to the wrist.
- If your wrist is under 31 in (79 cm) or over 39 in (99 cm), this range stops short.
- One tip will not stand up on its own.
- Support on both sides calls for a walker or a rollator, not a cane.
Will it fit?
Rest your arm beside you. Line the handle up with the wrist. The elbow will bend, and that bend is part of the fit.
- Press the button and stop at the hole that meets the wrist.
- A second person may need to watch the height while you stand.
Using it day to day
Keep the strap on the wrist before you put weight through the grip.
- Let go of the grip and the strap still holds the cane.
- A spare tip and the ice-pick attachment are separate items.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
This order is the coffee cane and its strap. The warranty is 1 year.
- The ice pick is not in the box.
- Other colours of this same cane are not this item number.
Which version should I choose?
Stay with item BD778 when you want the coffee shaft.
- The same offset cane also comes in black (56015), blue (BD780), purple (BD779), red (BD781) and grey (BD782).
How does it compare?
A hook handle, a shaped grip, or four tips is a different cane.
- BIOS J-handle cane: a foam hook you can hang up, 33 to 37 in (84 to 94 cm), same 300 lb (136 kg) limit.
- BIOS orthopedic cane: an angled soft grip, limited to 265 lb (120 kg).
- BIOS quad cane: a four-point base, handle 29 to 38 in (74 to 97 cm).

Frequently asked questions
Is black item 56015 this order?
No. Black is the same offset cane in another colour. This order is coffee, item BD778.
What if 31 in is still too tall?
This cane cannot go lower than 31 in (79 cm). A shorter cane is a different model.
Does the strap replace holding the grip?
No. The strap keeps the cane with you. Your hand still takes the weight through the grip.
