Description
The Blake Geo-Matrix G3 is a non-powered gel and foam mattress, 36 by 80 in and 7 in high, rated 300 lbs (136 kg). Gel at the head, coccyx and heel gives pressure relief without a pump or an outlet.
How is it built?
- A dual-density foam base carries a 5 lb memory foam core inside a firm perimeter.
- Blue gel covers the head and coccyx; two purple layers sit inside the coccyx zone.
- Pillowtop gel at the heel protects a second high-risk point.
- The gel columns share load with their neighbours as the body settles.
- No pump, hose or calibration, so a power cut changes nothing.
Who is it for?
- Blake labels it for prevention and healing of stage I to IV pressure injuries that are not complex, from reddened skin through to a wound that reaches the bone.
- A nurse, doctor or therapist should assess skin, mobility and positioning before choosing it.
- It suits a fixed bed already measured for a 36 by 80 in surface.
- For moisture, a low air loss mattress manages it; this is a dry surface.
Will it fit the bed?
- Standard 36 by 80 by 7 in (91 by 203 by 18 cm), maker code G33680.
- Blake also lists 39, 42, 54 and 60 in widths; a wider deck needs a different code.
- 300 lbs (136 kg) is the mattress rating; the bed frame's own safe working load applies if it is lower.
- At 7 in high, check the rail gaps. Health Canada recommends under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.
- A mattress that has touched skin cannot be returned. Measure the deck first and read the return policy.
What is the cover like?
- 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid proof and wipeable, with a nylon quilting layer.
- Wipe it down; no machine-wash cycle is published.
- Check the quilting, the seams and the gel surface at each linen change.

Frequently asked questions
Is the G3 an overlay?
No. It is a full 7 in mattress with gel and foam layers inside its cover. A Geo-Matrix gel overlay is a separate pad that sits on another mattress.
Does it need power?
No. There is no pump, so nothing stops during a power failure and there is no pressure setting to adjust.
Can it hold 500 lbs?
The standard G3 is rated 300 lbs (136 kg). Do not assume a higher rating for a custom width; confirm the build in writing first.
Is this the 6 inch G3?
This is the 7 in standard build at 36 by 80 in. Blake also makes a 6 in custom-size G3 in six widths; tell us the bed and we confirm which build and code fit.
