The Blake Fusion 4K is a true low air loss mattress replacement with a powered pump, 6 in (15 cm) thick, 35 by 80 in (89 by 203 cm), rated 300 lbs (136 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
- Eighteen polyurethane air cells, 28 by 5 in (71 by 13 cm), sit inside a foam crib.
- The crib forms 3.5 in (9 cm) transfer borders on each side and a 3 in (8 cm) foam border at the head and base.
- Pulsation mode raises and lowers the airflow in a repeating cycle; Static low air loss mode holds a steady airflow for microclimate control.
- Advanced microprocessors monitor the person's immersion in the surface.
- The Recovery 5 top cover is quilted, fluid proof and anti-microbial; the foam crib is covered in fluid-resistant nylon.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

Will it fit?
- 35 in wide (89 cm), 80 in long (203 cm) and 6 in high (15 cm) in the standard build; a 35 by 84 in (213 cm) length is a custom order.
- The 300 lbs (136 kg) rating is the mattress limit; the bed frame's own safe working load applies if it is lower.
- At 6 in high, recheck the gaps to the rails. Health Canada recommends gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.

Using it day to day
- Keep the pump connected and check the hoses and cover at each linen change.
- Wipe the cover and the fluid-resistant crib with a hospital cleaner.
- In a power failure the powered modes stop, and the foam crib gives passive support only.
