The Drive 15312 is a non-powered bariatric foam mattress, 54 x 80 x 6.5 in (137 x 203 x 16.5 cm), for a 54 in hospital bed deck. It is rated 750 lbs (340 kg).

What does it do and how does it work?

It is a one-piece basic foam mattress with no pump or air cells.

• The foam runs the full 54 in width.
• The bottom cover is vinyl.
• No layer count, heel section or edge bolster is published for this item.
• It is a replacement mattress, not an overlay.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

It suits a bariatric patient on a 54 in deck whose care team chooses basic foam.

• The person's nurse, doctor or therapist decides which surface suits their skin and risk.
• Choose the 42 in 15301 or the 48 in 15310 for a narrower deck.
• Choose a surface with a stated pressure-injury stage if the care plan needs one.

Will it fit?

Match the 54 x 80 in mattress to the sleep deck.

• Capacity is 750 lbs (340 kg); the lower of that and the bed's safe working load applies.
• Measure the sleep deck, not the outside of the frame.
• The 6.5 in (16.5 cm) height changes the transfer height and the rail gaps. Health Canada advises gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) in zones 1 to 3 and 60 mm (2 3/8 in) in zone 4.
• A used mattress cannot be returned under our return policy.

Using it day to day

Place it on the deck and make the bed as usual.

• Check the cover seams for tears before use.
