Description

The Drive Levantar Floor Patient Lift with manual base (model FLNP500) is an electric floor lift that carries a person in a sling from the floor, a bed, a chair or a wheelchair.

Who is the Levantar floor lift for?

For a person who cannot bear weight, at home or in a care setting, up to 500 lbs (227 kg).

How does a transfer work with it?

  • Sling and cradle: the person is lifted in a Drive DeVilbiss sling on the standard 6-point cradle with spring clips, in a sitting or recumbent position.
  • Controls: a hand control with up and down buttons plugs into the control box and hooks on the mast.
  • Floor pickup: the hook lowers to 2.1 in (55 mm), so the lift can pick a person up from the floor.
  • Emergency lowering: buttons on the control module, plus a mechanical device on the actuator that lowers the person by hand.

Will it fit your home?

  • Closed base: 31.6 in (805 mm) outside, so it passes most interior doorways.
  • Open base: 45.8 in (1165 mm) outside, with 40.3 in (1025 mm) inside between the legs to clear a wheelchair, recliner or commode.
  • Height: the legs are 5.3 in (135 mm) high, so the bed or chair base must clear them; ground clearance is 2.9 in (76 mm).

Which slings fit the Levantar?

  • Drive slings only: Drive states the lift is designed to be used with, and only with, the Drive DeVilbiss branded range of slings.
  • Named families: 13221 full body, 13222 and 13223 full body, 13262 divided leg and 13220 padded U-sling.
  • Rating: check the sling's own rating against the person's weight, because Drive's slings do not all carry the same load. The full body sling with commode opening is one option.

Battery, charging and care

  • Battery: a removable pack, 5.0A at 7.9 lbs (3.6 kg) or 2.9A at 4.9 lbs (2.2 kg); Drive publishes no voltage.
  • Charging: on the lift through the control box, or off the lift on the desktop stand; about 3 hours, with no overcharge risk.

Funding help for a patient lift in Ontario

Depending on the person's needs and assessment, funding may be available for mobility equipment in Ontario. Our team works with funding programs every week and can point you to the right route before you buy. See our funding guide or call (905) 798-1853.

How do delivery, setup and service work?

We deliver and set up across Toronto and the GTA, charge the battery, fit the sling and show the controls and emergency lowering. Renting a floor lift first suits a short need; see service and free home assessment.

Drive's warranty covers the frame for life (15 years), the electronics for 5 years, the battery for 1 year and casters for 90 days.

How does it compare?

The Levantar power base is the same frame with powered leg opening, and the patient lifts hub lists the other floor and ceiling lifts. Buyers often search for a Hoyer lift; this is Drive's own Levantar.

Frequently asked questions

Can one caregiver use it without help?

Drive allows it only for someone who has studied the instructions and has the training, experience and ability to judge it safe.

Does the manual base open under power?

No. The legs are opened and closed by hand with the legs adjustment handle in the carton.

What happens if the power fails mid-transfer?

The control module has raise and lower buttons, and a mechanical device on the actuator lowers the person by hand.
