Description
The Golden Buzzaround CarryOn (GB120) is a four-wheel folding scooter for a rider who stores it indoors and lifts it in pieces.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A rider up to 300 lbs (136 kg) who transfers alone and can work the seat lever and battery release.
- Curbs over 1.5 in (3.8 cm), steep driveways, gravel or a long daily route: a larger scooter that does not fold is the better daily ride.
- If you cannot work the pins and levers, compare the ZooMe Auto-Flex, which folds by key fob.
- If you need a cushion or back support for posture, ask your therapist about a folding power wheelchair.
Will it fit the car and the closet?
- Open size: 38 in (96.5 cm) long, 19.5 in (49.5 cm) wide, 34.5 in (87.6 cm) high at the seat back. Turning radius 48.75 in (123.8 cm).
- Folded height is 12 in (30.5 cm) with the seat off. The main body is 47.5 lbs (21.5 kg) without the seat and batteries; the deck sits 6 in (15.2 cm) off the ground and the seat 17.5 in (44.5 cm) above it, with 28.7 in (72.9 cm) between the axles.
- Lift it by the four carry handles, not by the plastic body, seat, tiller or wheels. A kickstand lets it stand upright in a closet.
- To fold it: remove the key, fold the arms, lift the yellow seat release and take the seat off, press the battery release, pull both seat pins and push the frame down, then lower the tiller until its hooks lock.
- Slopes up to 6 degrees, straight up or down, never across, and do not back down one. A 50 A controller runs the rear wheels; freewheel works only with the battery in, and never sit on it in freewheel.
Batteries, weather and flying
- Two lithium packs are included: 12.5 Ah and a 6.5 Ah spare, about 5 lbs (2.3 kg) each. Range at 200 lbs (91 kg) is up to 23.2 km on the larger pack, 12.1 km on the spare, or 35.2 km with both.
- The watt-hour figure is on each pack's label; read it before you fly. The airline must approve the scooter. Older 15 Ah labels were 360 Wh and were not cabin-safe.
- Charge the packs for 6 to 8 hours after a day's use. If the scooter sits unused for more than a week, charge it fully and take the pack out; check a stored pack monthly.
- Do not ride or store it in rain, snow, mist or below freezing. A frozen pack cannot be charged safely. Store it between 0 and 50 degrees C, below 80% humidity, with the pack out.
Compare
- Go-Go Carbon: a lighter lift, with less range.
- Go-Go Elite Traveller 2: does not fold, and turns in 37 in (94 cm).
Frequently asked questions
Do both battery packs have to come off for a flight?
Take both packs off and carry them in the cabin if the airline accepts them. Read the watt-hour figure on each label first.
Is the travel bag included?
No. The Golden CarryOn travel bag is a separate option, not part of the scooter. Call us to order one.
Can I hose it off after a wet sidewalk?
No. Use a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep it out of rain, snow and mist.
