Description
The Blake Emotion Micro LAL, code E-MOTION-B, is a powered mattress replacement with two therapies: 3-in-1 alternating pressure and static micro low air loss. It is 36 by 80 in and rated 440 lbs (200 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
- Eighteen cells make up the surface: 14 at 8 in and four 6 in at the foot.
- Each main cell has a 4.5 in active layer over 3.5 in of static air, so a lower layer stays filled as the top alternates.
- In 3-in-1 mode, one cell in each group of three deflates while two keep supporting.
- Static therapy stops the cell movement while low air loss continues.
- Seven pressure settings and an Upright/Fowler Boost add buttock support when the head of the bed is raised.
- A mesh centre strip runs head to toe to keep the cells in line, including when the bed is upright.
- The four shorter foot cells create a lower heel section to reduce pressure there.
Who is it for?
- Blake describes it for users with existing pressure injuries and/or poor skin integrity; the care team decides.
- Where heavy perspiration is the main concern, ask about a higher-airflow surface.
- It replaces the mattress and is not an overlay.
Will it fit the bed?
- 36 in wide and 80 in long (91 by 203 cm); limited custom sizes are available on request.
- The main cells are 8 in high and the foot cells 6 in; check the fitted height against the rails.
- 440 lbs (200 kg) is the mattress rating; the bed frame's own safe working load applies if lower.
- Check the rail gaps. Health Canada recommends under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.
- A used mattress cannot be returned. Measure first and read the return policy.
Power, controls and cover
- The compressor-style pump is described as whisper quiet and lower energy than traditional low air loss.
- When power stops, the lower static air stays in place but powered therapy stops, so the care team's outage plan applies.
- If the care plan needs an alarm or a CPR release, we confirm those features with Blake before ordering.
- The quilted nylon cover wipes down; follow the facility's protocol for deeper cleaning.

MOXI Enterprises, the maker of the eMotion system that Blake Medical supplies in Canada as the Emotion Micro LAL (E-MOTION-B), warrants it against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase.
- Controller and mattress: 1 year; a part proven defective is repaired or replaced at no charge.
- Covers the original consumer purchaser.
- Excludes damage from shipping, tampering, improper maintenance, carelessness, accident, negligence or misuse, and equipment altered, repaired or taken apart without the maker's written authorization.
