Description
The Drive 11148N-4 is a grey steel bedside commode with a deep seat that folds flat. It holds 350 lbs (159 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
Pin the braces beside the bed and it is a toilet chair. Release them and it folds flat.
- Square the sides, then pin the front cross brace and the back brace until the pins snap through.
- To fold it, release the back brace and slide the front frame off.
- Snap-on plastic seat and lid, plastic arms, grey powder-coated welded steel, and four rubber tips. No wheels.
- Snap-button legs set the height from 15.5 in to 21.75 in (39.4-55.2 cm), with a 7.5 qt (7.1 L) pail, handle, cover and splash shield.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits someone who wants a bedside commode that stores flat.
- Choose the 11125KD-1 when the arms must drop for a sideways slide and the chair stays set up.
- Choose the wheeled drop-arm commode when the chair has to roll.
- Choose a shower commode when the seat has to go into the shower.
Will it fit?
The gap is 18 in (46 cm) between the arms, and 22.25 in (56.5 cm) outside.
- The seat is 13.25 in wide by 16.5 in deep (33.7 by 41.9 cm).
- Set all four legs in the same hole, from 15.5 in to 21.75 in (39.4-55.2 cm), with all four tips on the floor.
- The frame weighs 13 lbs (5.9 kg). One size.
Using it day to day
The seat stays down. The arms stay up. The whole frame is what folds.
- Lower the pail into its bracket and empty it by the handle. Wipe the seat after use.
- An opened commode cannot be returned (return policy).
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
Bedside use only. It does not roll, and it is not a shower chair. The limit is 350 lbs (159 kg).
- The pail includes a splash shield. A replacement is no longer available, so keep it.
- Drive packs 11148N-4 four to a carton. This price is for one commode. We confirm that one chair is what ships before you order.
- Limited lifetime warranty; see the Warranty tab. A free home assessment can check the bedside space.
How does it compare?
- 11125KD-1 drops its arms for a sideways move and does not fold flat.
- 11101W rolls on casters and has padded arms.
- More bedside chairs are under commodes.
Frequently asked questions
Do the arms drop for a sideways slide?
No. The plastic arms stay on the frame. The fold is the whole chair, not a swinging arm.
Does a weaker person need someone nearby?
Yes. A person with limited strength should have someone with them while they use the chair.
Does the back stay on when it folds?
No. The back brace comes off, and the front frame slides free, so the chair can fold flat.
Can I buy a new splash shield later?
A replacement splash shield is no longer available. Keep the shield that comes with the pail.
