Description
The Handicare H2T is a tilting shower and commode chair. The seat leans back so a carer can wash hair while the person stays supported.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The recline lets a carer wash hair without tipping the person's head back over a basin.
- The person stays on the chair for the shower and for the toilet.
- How far the seat leans back is set with the chair you are quoted.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
Choose it when sitting upright makes hair washing or skin care hard for the carer. If the person is comfortable upright, the H2 is the simpler chair. If the user is heavier and still needs the seat to lean back, see the H3T.
Will it fit?
We confirm how far the seat reclines, the seat height, and the user weight before you order. A free home assessment can check the bathroom around the chair.
Using it day to day
A carer stays beside the chair while the seat is reclined. Do not leave the person tilted and alone. The chair is not a handhold. Add a grab bar where a handhold is needed. Bathroom items are not returnable: see the return policy.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
The recline is for washing, not a treatment. The chair does not lower anyone into a bathtub. A patient lift is separate if a sling transfer is needed.
Which version should I choose?
- H2T when hair washing needs the person reclined and supported.
- H2 when an upright shower and toilet chair is enough.
- H3T when the user is heavier and the seat must still lean back.
How does it compare?
The H2 does not recline. A bath bench is a shower seat only and does not replace the toilet.
Frequently asked questions
Who operates the recline?
Ask who is meant to operate the recline before you order. A carer should stay with the person while the seat is back.
Is a head support included?
Ask if hair washing needs a head support. A head support is not assumed on this quote.
Does the tilt replace a bath lift?
No. The chair does not lower you into a bathtub. It reclines a person who is already seated.
