Description

The Handicare H3T is a bariatric tilting shower and commode chair for a heavier user who also needs the seat to lean back.

What does it do and how does it work?

  • The seat leans back so a carer can wash hair while a heavier user stays supported.
  • The same chair is used for the shower and for the toilet.
  • User weight and the amount of recline are quoted together, for one chair.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

Choose it when both are true: the user needs a heavier-duty chair, and a carer needs that seat reclined. If only the weight is the issue, see the H3. If only the recline is the issue, see the H2T.

Will it fit?

We confirm the user weight and how far the seat reclines before you order. Measure the doorway as well. A free home assessment can check the path from the door to the toilet.

Using it day to day

A carer stays with the person while the seat is reclined. Do not leave a heavier user tilted and alone. The chair is not a handhold. Add a grab bar where you need to hold on. Bathroom items are not returnable: see the return policy.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

It does not lower anyone into a bathtub. The recline is for washing, not a treatment. A sling transfer still needs a patient lift on its own.

Which version should I choose?

  • H3T when a heavier user needs both a stronger chair and a reclining seat.
  • H3 when the heavier user can sit upright.
  • H2T when the recline matters and a standard chair is enough.

How does it compare?

The H3 is the heavier-duty chair without the recline. The H2T reclines and is not the bariatric chair. A bath bench does not do either job.

Frequently asked questions

Can one chair both recline and take a heavier user?

Yes. This quote is for a chair that does both. Ask for the user weight and the recline together.

Is a head support included?

Ask if hair washing needs a head support. One is not assumed on the H3T quote.

Does it replace a bath lift?

No. It does not lower you into a tub. It reclines a heavier user who is already seated on the chair.
