The Hoyer Calibre, item HOY-CALIBRE-S, is an electric bariatric floor lift rated 850 lb (385 kg), with a 6-point cradle and a built-in scale.
What does it do and how does it work?
The boom and the legs both move from the hand control. Two caregivers operate it.
- The 6-point cradle takes loop slings. Hooks travel from 25.5 in (650 mm) to 73 in (1,855 mm).
- A NAWI Class III scale is built in. The monitor counts lifts and shows overload and a service reminder.
- The legs open under power. A wrap-around handle and a foot pad move the lift.
- The battery is a removable 24 V pack, 3.2 Ah. It charges on a desktop stand, off the lift.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It transfers someone up to 850 lb (385 kg) who cannot stand, from a bed, chair, or the floor.
- Two trained caregivers, indoors, at every lift.
- Choose the low-base FGA-700 if the bed will not clear a 5 in (130 mm) leg and the person is within 700 lb (318 kg).
- A short need can start with a patient lift rental.
Will it fit?
Measure the doorway, the ceiling, and the gap under the bed.
- Closed, the base is 33.2 in (845 mm) outside. Open, it is 55.1 in (1,400 mm) outside and 49.0 in (1,245 mm) inside.
- Length is 68.7 to 70.7 in (1,745 to 1,795 mm). Overall height is 62.6 to 88.6 in (1,590 to 2,250 mm).
- The legs are 5 in (130 mm) high, with 0.75 in (20 mm) underneath. Casters are 4 in (100 mm). The rear pair brake.
Using it day to day
Charge the battery on the desktop stand for about 4 hours before the first lift.
- Lock the rear casters for a floor lift. Leave them free for a bed or chair so the lift can settle.
- Seat every loop, raise a little, and check the hooks. Push only on the handle or the foot pad.
- Run for 2 minutes, then rest 18 minutes. If power fails, twist the red mechanical boss, then wait for an engineer check.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
The listed sling is the Hoyer bariatric hammock, rated 850 lb (385 kg). We confirm the scale is on this item before you order.
- See the Hoyer bariatric hammock sling and other patient lift slings.
- Run the daily check before use. The control box is IPX4. Do not open the battery.
How does it compare?
See patient lifts and electric Hoyer lifts. The Hoyer Advance is rated 340 lb and folds. Heavier choices are on heavy-duty patient lifts.
Frequently asked questions
Can one caregiver run this lift?
No. Two caregivers is the minimum for every transfer.
Where does the battery charge?
On the desktop stand, off the lift. A full charge is about 4 hours.
What if the hand control fails mid-lift?
Use the buttons under the red stop. With no power, twist the red mechanical boss, then wait for an engineer check.
Does the cradle touch the floor?
No. The lowest hook is 25.5 in (650 mm). A floor lift still uses a sling, with the rear casters locked.
