Description
The Hoyer Comfort amputee sling, item NA1201, is the small polyester clip sling for a person with an amputation on a passive Hoyer lift, rated 500 lb (227 kg).
What does it do and how does it work?
Securi3 clips lock the shoulder straps to a 4-point cradle and the leg straps to an amputee spreader bar.
- Keep the cradle off the face. Every green safety loop must show before you lift.
- It also suits bed making or a bath, after a qualified person assesses the fit.
- No separate head panel. Support the head while the person is raised.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
Use it for an amputation transfer at or under 500 lb (227 kg) on a Presence or Stature clip cradle.
- No amputee bar needed: the padded Comfort, extra small NA25506, clips to the cradle only.
- A loop bar, such as on an HML400, needs a loop sling. These clips will not lock onto it.
- Someone who stands with a belt needs a stand-aid sling.
Will it fit?
Small only, red, item NA1201. Medium is yellow NA1202. Large is green NA1203.
- On the bed, the bottom sits just behind the knees and the top sits at head height, with both edges level.
- Brown and blue loads are printed without a chart item number. Do not order those colours from this listing.
- We confirm a clip cradle and bar HOY_AMPUTEE_SB before you order.
Using it day to day
Roll the person on with a draw-sheet roll, fit the amputee bar, then the clips.
- The cradle pivot handle changes posture. Remain beside them. Do not tug the straps to move them.
- Warm wash, no bleach, at or under 185 F (85 C). Cool tumble or air dry. No dry cleaning.
- Check the stitching. Retire a bleached, torn, cut, frayed or broken sling. Do not alter it.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
Presence and Stature only, passive lifts, genuine Hoyer on a Hoyer lift.
- Bar HOY_AMPUTEE_SB is required and is not in the NA1201 box.
- Stay at or under 500 lb (227 kg) and the lift's rating.
- Hoyer Pro slings: 12 months for the original owner. Altering the sling voids the warranty. See the Warranty tab.
Which version should I choose?
NA1201 is small. NA1202 is medium and NA1203 is large, each 500 lb (227 kg).
How does it compare?
Keep NA1201 when the transfer needs the amputee bar.
- The padded Comfort, NA25506, has no amputee bar and is rated 500 lb (227 kg).
- The one-piece commode sling, 70055, is a loop sling at 600 lb (272 kg) and may be used for an amputation.
- More lifts are on the patient lifts page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the amputee bar in the box?
No. NA1201 is the sling only. It must be used with bar HOY_AMPUTEE_SB if the lift does not already have one.
What do the green loops mean?
They show that each Securi3 clip is locked. All of them must be visible before you raise the person.
Can I use this on a loop bar?
No. The clips fit a 4-point Hoyer cradle and the amputee bar, not a loop spreader bar.
