Description

The Invacare standard sling (part 9047) is one size of polyester mesh, made with a toilet opening, for an Invacare 9805P lift.

What does it do and how does it work?

It supports the person from just above the armpits to just above the knees, with an opening for the toilet.

  • Mesh polyester with a brushed lining. The load is 450 lbs (204 kg).
  • Four metal bars take the S-hooks. Strap kit 9070 or chain kit 9071 is required and sold separately.
  • The short section of the strap or chain goes on the back. Each S-hook opens away from the person.
  • Move only from one resting surface to the next. Do not travel with someone hanging in the sling.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

It is for a person on an Invacare 9805P who needs a mesh sling with a toilet opening.

  • Two people make the roll easier. One caregiver can run the lift when a clinician agrees.
  • A Reliant, Jasmine, or Birdie lift needs a different Invacare sling.
  • There is no head support.

Will it fit?

There is one size: 40.5 in long and 29 in wide (102.9 cm by 73.7 cm).

  • Set the top edge just above the armpits and the bottom edge a few inches above the knees.
  • We confirm that the lift is a 9805P, and whether you need kit 9070 or kit 9071, before you order.

Using it day to day

Roll the person onto the sling, smooth it, then hook the kit into the four bars.

  • Remove the four metal bars before washing and refit them before the next lift.
  • Machine wash at no more than 180 F (82 C), with dark colours. Do not bleach. Air dry, or tumble dry on low.
  • After each wash, discard the sling if it is bleached, torn, cut, frayed, or loose at the stitching. Do not alter it.
  • Expected service life is 13 months. The warranty is 1 year for the original purchaser. See warranty.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

It hangs only on an Invacare 9805P, using kit 9070 or kit 9071.

  • Do not put a pad or a cushion between the person and the mesh.
  • Do not mix this sling with another maker's lift.
  • More lifts and slings are under patient lifts.

Which version should I choose?

Part 9047 is the mesh piece with the opening. There is no second size.

  • 9046 is mesh without the opening. 9043 is solid with the opening. 9042 is solid without it.

How does it compare?

Choose 9047 when the lift is a 9805P and you want mesh with a toilet opening.

Frequently asked questions

Are the straps included?

No. Part 9047 is the mesh only. Order strap kit 9070 or chain kit 9071 as well.

No. Take all four bars out before washing, then put them back before the next lift.

No hotter than 180 F (82 C). Do not bleach. Air dry it, or use a low dryer setting.
