Using it day to day
- Fit the brackets, lock the rail, and check gaps at the head, the foot and along the mattress in every bed position.
- If the rail will not lock, take it out of service.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- A mattress that is too narrow, too thin or the wrong length can leave an opening. That opening can catch a head or a neck and cause serious injury or death.
- An unlocked rail, or brackets in the wrong place, can do the same.

No. It is an assist device. It is not a restraint, and it does not stop a person leaving the bed.
