The Joerns WeCare is a full-electric long term care bed that lowers to 8 inches (20 cm); the base model stops at 8.75 inches.
Who is it for?
- An adult up to 400 lbs (181 kg), with a caregiver.
- Safe working load is 450 lbs (204 kg), counting the person, mattress, bedding and accessories.
- Sold for home use, but not a homecare bed.
- The deck runs 8 to 28 inches; the base model runs 8.75 to 26 inches.
Will it fit the room?
- The deck is 35 by 80 inches (89 by 203 cm).
- CareWide (Comfext) widens it to 39 or 42 inches. A 4 inch extender makes the deck 84 inches.
- It splits for one-person delivery: head 67.3 lbs, foot 77.7 lbs.
- The frame weighs 145 lbs (66 kg) without panels.
- Underbed clearance is 18 inches.
Which mattress and rails are safe on it?
- Mattress: at least 35 inches wide and 6 inches (15 cm) thick, matching the 80 or 84 inch deck.
- The wrong size or thickness leaves a gap at the rail, where entrapment happens.
- The assist devices for this frame are F14 (half length), F168 (3/4 length, needs mount N832AL), and handles F025, F026 and F028.
- Do not use an assist device until it is verified for this frame and locked. A care team decides whether rails are used.

What happens if the power goes out?
The bed stays where it is until power returns. Neither the N211 battery nor the on-board backup is included.
Does delivery need two people?
No. The frame splits for one-person delivery, and the foot section is the heaviest at 77.7 lbs.
What is not included?
A mattress, panels, assist devices, the staff control and a battery are separate. Trendelenburg needs the staff control.
