The Joerns 39001317 kit is four corner retainers and attaching hardware for an EasyCare 600 lb bed. It holds the mattress on the deck.
What does it do and how does it work?
Each retainer mounts at a deck corner so the mattress cannot slide sideways or toward the head and the foot. Check again after a raise, a lower, or a profile change. The mattress must fill the width between the side retainers.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
Use it on an EasyCare 600 lb frame when the corner retainers are missing or bent. A household bed needs another holder. An UltraCare XT takes the N517 or N518 pair instead. The N228AL extra mattress stop is one assist-handle mount, not this kit.
Will it fit?
It fits EasyCare 500 and EasyCare 600 lb supports, on a 35 in (89 cm) fixed-width deck and on an integrated-width deck. The same item number is the mattress stop kit on an 80 in WeCare Base, RIL or RAH.
Send the model and serial for any other frame and we confirm before you order. The bed's safe working load still applies.
Using it day to day
Match the carton label to 39001317 before fitting. Corner screws on this EasyCare support take a T25 Torx, and every screw stays with the bed. Do not sit or slide on a side retainer if the mattress compresses under 1.5 in (3.8 cm), because skin can be injured.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
It works with those EasyCare decks and with the 80 in WeCare frames named above. The bed, mattress, and handle are separate. It does not replace a bed rail and it does not stop a fall.
Where a rail is also fitted, Health Canada asks adult hospital beds to keep openings under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) inside the rail, under the rail, and between the rail and the mattress. Choose the surface on medical mattresses.
How does it compare?
The N517 and N518 side stops are UltraCare XT pairs, chosen by head length. This kit is the EasyCare 600 lb four-corner set. A new surface is a separate foam mattress.

Is 600 lb this kit's own weight limit?
No. 600 lb is the EasyCare bed's safe working load. This kit has no rating of its own.
Do all four retainers have to be fitted?
Yes. The set is four retainers, one for each corner of the mattress support. Leaving a corner off lets the mattress shift.
What if a screw from the kit is missing?
Do not guess a substitute screw. Ask service to match the missing fastener before anyone uses the bed.
