The Joerns 310-0325 is the top cover on a DermaFloat therapy mattress. The air pump and the air cells are a different order.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The pad covers the air cells. The resident does not lie on the bare cells.
- On a DermaFloat LAL, the top is smooth nylon: low friction, low shear, fluid-proof, moisture-vapour permeable, and treated to resist microbes.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for a DermaFloat LAL or APL mattress that needs a new top pad. It is not a rail or a bed panel.

- A DermaFloat LAL mattress is 36 or 42 in wide by 80 in long by 10 in deep (91 or 107 cm by 203 cm by 25 cm).
- A DermaFloat APL mattress is 36 in by 80 in by 8 in (91 cm by 203 cm by 20 cm).
- Item 310-0341 is a different cover code.
Using it day to day
Keep the pad over the cells while the mattress is in use. Unplug the control unit before cleaning.
Wipe the pad with a disinfectant or a mild detergent. Wash a heavy soil in water no hotter than 120 degrees F (49 degrees C). Do not steam-clean the unit or use solvents such as acetone.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Low-air-loss therapy and pulsation stay in the mattress and the pump. This cover does not include them.
- A DermaFloat LAL mattress is rated up to 500 lb (227 kg). An APL mattress is rated up to 350 lb (159 kg).
- A DermaFloat LAL cover is warranted for 1 year. The mattress term is 2 years.
Which version should I choose?
Use 310-0325 when the mattress label matches this item. Use 310-0341 for the 42 in (107 cm) wide DermaFloat LAL. LAL widths are 36 in (91 cm) and 42 in (107 cm).
