The Drive Full Electric Low Height Bed 15005LP is a full electric homecare bed whose deck lowers to 9.25 inches (235 mm) from the floor, so a person can sit on the edge with both feet down and stand up with less help. The hand pendant moves the head, the foot and the whole bed, and the casters can be fitted in two positions, one that lets the bed roll at any height and one that keeps it low. The frame carries 450 lbs (204 kg) in total, 350 lbs (158 kg) of that the person. It suits a home where the person still gets out of bed and the caregiver wants to work at a comfortable height.

What is included?

The bed ships in two cartons: the head spring with the low head board and casters (Drive 15215P), and the foot spring with the low foot board, junction box, three motors, wired hand pendant and the emergency crank handle (Drive 15216P), plus four casters, two locking pins and the pull tube straps. Side rails and a mattress are not included: choose a Drive half rail set or a full length set as an option, and a mattress of 36 inches wide and 5-1/2 to 7 inches thick. Description

The Drive full-electric low height bed (15005LP) brings the deck near the floor, in our full-electric hospital beds.

Who is it for?

  • An adult up to 350 lbs (158 kg) who still gets out of bed.
  • Total load, including person, mattress, rails, trapeze and accessories, stays within 450 lbs (204 kg).
  • Drive does not permit moving a person in this bed, so lock the wheels while someone is in it.
  • Not the Delta 15033, the Delta 15235, or the Solite Pro 15006LP.

Will it fit the room?

  • Heights are the underside of the deck, with no mattress.
  • With the casters in the low-roll position, the deck works from 9.25 to 23 inches (235 to 585 mm).
  • With the casters in the roll-at-any-height position, the deck works from 14.81 to 23 inches (376 to 585 mm).
  • The caster position is set when the bed is assembled; tell us which one you need.
  • The bed is 88 inches long, 36.25 inches wide without rails, and 38.6 inches wide with rails.
  • A 36 inch mattress fits the 80 inch deck. The 15005EXTKIT-L makes it 84 inches and is not in the box.
  • Assembled in the room: head carton 74.8 lbs, foot carton 101 lbs.

Which mattress and rails are safe on it?

Compare

  • Delta 15235: same 9.25 inch figure on Drive's page, and the same half and full rails. Ends and warranty differ.
  • Delta 15033: a higher deck that uses a 9 volt battery in a power cut, not this crank.
  • Solite Pro 15006LP: lighter sections and its own integral rails, not the 15201BV.

Frequently asked questions

What happens in a power cut?

There is no battery backup. A top-mounted crank moves the head, the foot and the height by hand.

What is not in the cartons?

Rails, a mattress and the 15005EXTKIT-L are separate. The cartons are head section 15215P and foot section 15216P.

Drive Medical warrants the full electric low height bed (15005LP) to the original purchaser. During the warranty period, Drive repairs or replaces defective items at its option at no charge.

  • Welds: limited lifetime.
  • Frame: 5 years.
  • Motor and pendant: 5 years.
  • All other parts and components: 1 year.
  • Void after unauthorized service or modification, work by unqualified people, or use of parts or accessories other than authorized Drive Medical replacements.
