Description
The Ki Mobility Liberty FT is a folding manual tilt wheelchair with 0 to 20 degrees of attendant-operated tilt, for a rider who needs both tilt and a folding base.
What does it do, and how does it work?
- An attendant tilts the seat from 0 to 20 degrees; the rider does not operate the tilt.
- The base folds side to side for loading, while the back folds only if the folding-back option is ordered.
- Seat 14 to 22 in (36 to 56 cm) wide, 14 to 20 in (36 to 51 cm) deep and 13 to 20 in (33 to 51 cm) high.
- Transport weight 25.8 lbs (11.7 kg) on a 16 by 16 in reference chair without arms, footrests and rear wheels.
- Hand or foot propulsion may suit some riders, depending on the wheels and seat chosen.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A rider up to 250 lbs (113 kg) whose caregiver tilts them and who needs a folding base.
- Wants a rigid base: Ki's rigid Liberty base. Needs more tilt: the Ki Mobility CR45 or Focus CR.
- No tilt needed: a folding wheelchair. Over 250 lbs (113 kg): bariatric wheelchairs.
Will it fit?
- Seat 14 to 22 in wide and 14 to 20 in deep; seat height 13 to 20 in.
- Arms and foot supports are chosen on the order form and fitted to the chair.
- For vehicle transport, WC-19 requires the folding-back option; the base fold alone is not the transit setup.
- Measure hip width, hip to knee and knee to heel in shoes; a therapist or our free home assessment can check the doorway and vehicle.
Using it day to day
- The attendant releases the tilt, sets the angle and locks it again; the rider stays seated through the tilt.
- Fold the base side to side for loading; with the folding-back option, the back folds down as well.
- The arms and foot supports come off for transfers; a technician fits the chosen set at delivery.
- The chair is built to the order form, and timing is confirmed with you.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- 250 lbs (113 kg), and the tilt stops at 20 degrees.
- The 25.8 lb figure is the transport lift with the arms, footrests and rear wheels removed, not the rolling weight.
- WC-19 transport needs the folding back; without it, the chair is not the transit setup.
- Wear items, including upholstery and tires, are excluded from the warranty.
Which version should I choose?
- This model is the folding base; Ki's rigid Liberty base is a separate chair.
- Sixteen frame colours in gloss or matte; arms, foot supports and wheels are chosen on the order form.
How does it compare?
- The Ki Mobility CR45 tilts from 0 to 45 degrees and takes 300 lbs (136 kg).
- The Ki Mobility Focus CR tilts from -5 to 50 degrees and takes 400 lbs (181 kg) in its heavy-duty version.
Frequently asked questions
Is the folding base the same as the folding back?
No; the base folds side to side, and the back folds only when the folding-back option is ordered.
Can the rider tilt it alone?
No; the tilt is operated by an attendant.
Is 25.8 lbs the weight I push?
No; it is the transport lift with the arms, footrests and rear wheels removed.
