The Permobil Halsa HALSA36 is the 36 in by 80 in standard homecare bed for one adult at home, not the wider Plus bed. We confirm that this item is the bed and boards only, without rails, before you order.
Who it suits, and who should choose another bed
- One adult at home, at or under 375 lb (170 kg).
- Not for a child. The Halsa is an adult bed, not a pediatric bed.
Will it fit the person and the room?
- Low position is 9.875 in (25.1 cm). High position is 25.625 in (65.1 cm). Those figures do not add a mattress.
- Sleep size is 36 in by 80 in (91 cm by 203 cm). The mattress is a separate order. Choose from our therapeutic mattresses.
- It comes apart into four sections for a narrow doorway or for storage.
- Choose Nature or Wine boards when you order. Wine is only on 36 in boards.
Rails, power and day-to-day limits
- The 10-button pendant is included and needs mains power. A backup battery is an optional item ordered on its own.
- Four casters lock. Set them after you move the bed, and before someone sits or lies down.
- Head and foot can move together. Trendelenburg and reverse run from 0 to 30 degrees, feet above the head.
- On Permobil's standard bed the rails are a separate order. Half rails fit the head or the foot. Full rails fit this bed, not the Plus. See bed rails.
- Do not use a rail as a restraint, or to stop someone getting out. If rails are on, leave them up while you move the bed.
- Unless a clinician says otherwise, leave the bed lowest and flat when the person is sleeping or alone.
How it compares
The Drive low height frame sits closer to the floor. Other choices are on homecare beds and full electric beds, including the Delta 1000.
Frequently asked questions
Are the rail and mattress in the photo part of HALSA36?
The rail and the mattress in that picture are extras. The standard bed is the frame, boards, a 10-button pendant and mattress retainers.
Does this bed roll while the deck is partly raised?
Move someone in the bed only at the lowest height, platform flat, rails up if fitted. Then lock all four casters.
Does a backup battery need a long first charge?
Only if you add one. That backup needs 48 hours on charge before a test, and it is a separate order.

Warranty
Warranty details
Permobil warrants the Hälsa bed against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. Parts it repairs or replaces are covered for one year from the service date or for the rest of the warranty, whichever is longer.
- Bed frame: 10 years.
- Mechanical parts: 4 years.
- Electrical parts, including motors, hand control and electronics: 2 years.
- Wood head and foot boards: 1 year.
- Covers the original purchaser only.
- Excludes damage from negligence or inappropriate use; using the bed above its weight limit can void the warranty.
