The Colt Sport S710DXW is a mid-size, four-wheel mobility scooter from Pride Mobility. It is rated for 350 lbs (159 kg), has Comfort Track Suspension at both ends and comes in Black Pearl or Stone Grey.
What does it do and how does it work?
- A 24 V DC rear-wheel-drive motor and 120 amp controller give up to 11.96 km/h (7.43 mph).
- Two 50 Ah batteries give up to 31.8 km (19.8 mi) at 220 lbs (100 kg) or 26 km (16.2 mi) at 350 lbs (159 kg).
- The off-board 5 A charger plugs into the tiller and takes 8 to 14 hours.
- CTS suspension front and rear and 10 in (254 mm) pneumatic tires handle pavement and paths.
- Brakes are regenerative and electromechanical; the LED package adds turn signals, brake lights and a puddle light.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A rider up to 350 lbs (159 kg) who wants a mid-size scooter for daily outdoor trips and errands.
- It comes apart for transport, but the front section weighs 68.6 lbs (31.1 kg); choose a travel scooter if you must lift it into a car.
- Choose a power wheelchair if you need postural support or pressure relief; ask your therapist.

- Overall size is 47.05 in long and 25.94 in wide (1195 x 659 mm), with a 51.7 in (1313 mm) turning radius.
- The seat is 17 x 17 in (432 x 432 mm), 21.02 to 23.43 in (534 to 595 mm) from the ground.
- Ground clearance is 2.13 in (54 mm) at the motor; measure the narrowest doorway on your route.
Using it day to day
- Charge after each trip, and give the batteries one 48-hour continuous charge each month.
- Never charge with an extension cord or while someone is sitting on the scooter; charge in a ventilated area away from flames.
- The seat swivels and slides, and the armrests adjust for height, width and angle.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The 350 lbs (159 kg) limit covers the rider and anything carried.
- The maximum slope is 6 degrees (10.5%), so steep driveways and ramps are out.
- Accessories include a rear basket, safety flag, oxygen tank holder, cane or crutch holder, walker holder, lap belt and weather cover.
- Only one rear accessory fits at a time.
How does it compare?
- The Pride Pursuit 2 is a full-size four-wheeler with a 400 lbs (181 kg) limit that does not come apart.
- The Pride Go Go Elite Traveller 2 comes apart into five pieces for a car boot, with a 300 lbs (136 kg) limit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I ride it on the road?
Ontario treats a medical scooter as a pedestrian, so ride on sidewalks and paths, not the road. Check your municipality's bylaw for local rules.
What if the battery goes flat away from home?
Turn the key off, stand beside it and move the freewheel lever to push it on level ground. Return the lever to drive mode before riding.
Can I ride it in cold weather?
It runs from -25 C to 50 C (-13 F to 122 F). Cold slows the battery and lengthens charging, so plan shorter winter trips.

Warranty details
Pride Mobility warrants the Colt Sport sold in Canada to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship.
- Structural frame (main frame, fork, seat post, tiller frame): limited lifetime.
- Transaxle, motor brake (electronic function), brake, bearings and bushings: 2 years.
- Controller, charger, harnesses and other electrical parts: 2 years.
- Pride batteries: 13 months from purchase.
- Excludes wear items (shrouds, motor brushes, upholstery and seating, brake pads, tires and tubes, fuses and bulbs), abuse, misuse and non-Pride parts.
- Labour, service calls and shipping are not covered unless Pride authorizes them in advance. Service is by an authorized Pride provider.
