Description
The original Pride Go Chair is a rear-wheel travel power chair that separates into four or six pieces for transport. It is the original GOCHAIR model, not the Go Chair MED, and carries up to 300 lbs (136 kg).
Who does the original Go Chair suit?
- A rider within the 300 lb rating who has help lifting the sections; the rear is heaviest at about 36 lb.
- A rider on indoor floors and pavement: suspension is limited and clearance is 1.75 in (45 mm), so rough paths are out.
- A rider who needs a compact chair: it turns in 25.5 in (648 mm).
How does it separate for travel?
- Power off, unplug the controller, lift the seat off its post, lift the battery box by its handle, then release the frame lever to split the base.
- It comes apart into four or six pieces, including the seat, battery box, rear and front sections.
- Weights are front 31 lb, rear 36.5 lb, seat 30.5 lb and battery box 30.75 lb.
- The seat is a five-point swivel with a latch release, the armrests adjust for height and width, and dual under-seat bins swing away.
Will it fit the rider and the car?
- Seats come 18 by 17 in (30 lb) or 20 by 18 in (32 lb), with medium-back memory seats in 18 by 18 or 20 by 18 in. Seat height adjusts in two positions, 22-23 in.
- The power base is 22.5 in (575 mm) wide and overall width 25.5 in; length is 33 in (842 mm) with the footplate, 28.5 in (725 mm) without.
How does it drive?
- Rear-wheel drive with 9 in (229 mm) solid drive wheels, 6 in (152 mm) solid casters and 3 in (76 mm) anti-tip wheels.
- Top speed is up to 3.8 mph (6 km/h) from a PG GC3 40 amp controller with a quick-disconnect joystick.
- Braking is electronic regenerative plus a disc park brake. It climbs 6 degrees and an obstacle of 1.25 in (30 mm).
- It is rated IPX4 for splashing water and runs below 65 dB.
Battery and range
- Range depends on the pack: 8.6 miles on 18 Ah, 10.7 to 13.2 miles on the 18 Ah extended range pack, and 12.6 miles on 22 Ah.
- Charging is off-board: 2 amp for 18 Ah and 3.5 amp for 22 Ah. Charge after each use and plug straight into a wall outlet, without an extension lead.
- Do not charge in freewheel mode or use the freewheel levers as tie-down points.
Supply and warranty
- No item number is confirmed, so a new order waits until the original chair and Canadian supply are confirmed.
- Warranty is 5 years on the frame, 3 years on the fixed seat post, 2 years on electronics and drivetrain in Canada, and 13 months on the batteries.
How does it compare?
- The Go Chair MED is a separate model with its own code and specifications.
- The Jazzy Carbon folds as one chair rather than separating into pieces.

Frequently asked questions
Can Go Chair MED parts be fitted to this chair?
No. Pride assigns separate model codes, and we confirm the supplied chair before you order.
Can one person lift it into a car?
It comes apart. The rear section is about 36.5 lb, the front 31 lb, the seat 30.5 lb and the battery box 30.75 lb.
Does the Go Chair fold in one piece?
No. It separates into four or six pieces rather than folding, so check the vehicle holds each section.
