Description
The Quantum 4Front 2 HD is a front-wheel power base, rated up to 450 lbs (204 kg), or 400 lbs (181 kg) with the 10 in (25.4 cm) seat lift.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Front-wheel drive: four-pole motors drive 14 in (35.6 cm) flat-free front wheels, with 9 in (22.9 cm) rear casters and 4 in (10.2 cm) front anti-tips.
- Suspension: automotive-grade SRS with HD suspension, and Smart Traction Control that corrects course on rough ground.
- Capacity: up to 450 lbs, or 400 lbs with the 10 in lift; the seating sets the final rating.
- Speed: up to 5 mph (8 km/h), or 2.7 mph (4.3 km/h) when elevated.
- Electronics: 120A Q-Logic 3e standard and 120A Q-Logic 3 optional, with an 8A off-board charger.
- Lighting: LED front and rear fender lights standard, with a backup camera optional.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits a rider up to 450 lbs (204 kg) who wants front-wheel drive and a wide HD seat.
- It suits outdoor use on rough ground with STC and SRS.
- Choose a mid-wheel base for a tighter indoor turn, or a folding chair for a car boot.
Will it fit?
- Rider: 450 lbs (204 kg), or 400 lbs (181 kg) with the lift; HD seats 20-24 in (50.8-61 cm) wide.
- Seat depth and height: static 20-24 in deep and 16.5-18.5 in high; power tilt 20-22 in deep and 18.5-20.5 in high; lift and tilt 20-22 in deep and 18.75-20.5 in high.
- Base: 24 in (61 cm) wide, 39.7 in (100.8 cm) long without riggings, 24.5 in (62.2 cm) turn.
- Ground: 2.6 in (66 mm) clearance at the motor pivot; the base weighs 140 lbs (63.5 kg).
Using it day to day
- Charge through the controller socket with the 8A off-board charger; if the LED is not complete within 24 hours, unplug and call.
- Freewheel: push both levers down to disengage the motors and pull them up for drive; use level ground only.
- Transport: four labelled tie-down points and four straps, forward-facing; never raise the seat while secured, and never use the freewheel levers as tie-downs.
- Before driving, check the charge and that both freewheel levers are up.
- New batteries need a full charge, a short run and another full charge, several times.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Stay within 450 lbs (204 kg), or 400 lbs (181 kg) with the lift.
- The 10 in lift lowers the speed to 2.7 mph (4.3 km/h).
- Seating, electronics and riggings are chosen in the build.
- Warranty: lifetime frame; 2 years electronics, motors, actuators and riggings; 6 months bearings; 12 months batteries.
